  1. Another place that catches people out is the starter and earth cables can get bad connections between the wire and the terminal.. Because they get a big load they can be fine one start, then sort of blow the contact and be dead as.... I've seen it on cars trucks and bikes.. Good news about the spark..

  5. All electrical is accessible, everything is off including the tank, except console area with key switch neutral light, I will take a look in that area and see what I can see.

  8. When he mentioned it, I thought it looked like it should be closer to the Stator coil. I'll be surprised if it doesn't start now.

  9. Still messing with it, need a new gasket but I did put it back together long enough to see it spark, the coil fit in nicely the right way, thanks to Eugen for catching that.

  11. The manual says it will set a code if the throttle cable's been disconnected.. You need to refer to the manual HPorter..

  12. Suspicious only happened when you changed the carb, there is a throttle sensor on the carb, you might check that for proper function, also a lot of wires in that area you might check to make sure nothing got unplugged. Those carbs are fairly high tech and a new one may not be talking correctly with the ECU, depending on whether its OEM or aftermarket.

  13. You need to download a service manual and it will tell you what that sign on the dash means . and what to do about it. It will lead you step by step through the diagnosis process to find the fault..

  14. Success short lived, Went out this morning to start cleaning the carb to work on get it started, and I have no power, no neutral light, no nothing, thought it might have blown a fuse , they were all good, so I am going to start tracking that down.
