  1. Pretty much the only thing reused of the original guns was the receivers. I used parts kits to fill in all of the missing or damaged pieces. I build an electrolysis tank to de rust everything. The receivers were horribly pitted and required many hours of filing, and sanding and I still could get some of them out. They look great from 10 feet away lol... Once I got the receivers where I wanted them, I cold blued them. I have more space now so I may get into hot bluing and redo everything.

  2. OK i forgot to mention I use my Dremel tool with a buffing or a coarse buff brush. Herewith is a picture of the same revolver after using the Dremel tool. I am going to consult with my gunsmith about what finish would be best.

  3. The action on the Colt .38 Detective special (top) is in very good. I have cleaned it up as it had lots of finish rust. I am going to smooth out some more pitting then Cold Blue it. I carry it a lot. The bottom revolver is a Hopkins & Allen .32 cal DA circa 1912. The action is still tight but it's a wall hanger. Polish and Blue...
