I have to pull my 500R apart again and get the crank balanced like I should have done before I even put the new crank in. I was so discouraged by the thought of not having anything to ride, I was forced to buy an LT R450. I like it really well, but I really can't wait the have the big 2-stroke back. The 450 is alot easier to ride though, the 500R is kind of like wrestling a bear in comparison

Don't think that would be a good idea, your clutch might not want to disengage all the way as there will be slightly less spring travel available.
-
Good chioce with the blue and black, it would look good with black plastic. I spray painted mine black, big mistake, started chipping and rubbing off after the first ride.

I noticed that you also have a Valkyrie, if you want more power, put that motor in the Fourtrax frame.
-
YFZ 450 frame with a Banshee motor in it. I would settle for a counter balancer for my the CR 500 motor in my 250R

Like the ITP Holeshots, but I run Maxis Razrs because I got them for cheap.

Good stuff, have fun with it>

I have Maxis Razrs on mine and I really like them. They are also relatively cheap. What ever you get, I would stick with the stock sizes.

Only four more months. Sounds like that will be alot of fun, if I take one of my front wheels off can I come?

Welcome sir.

First thing I would do is check for spark and do a compression test. If those are ok and it still won't start, then open up the carb and make sure all the fuel passages are clear ie, jets, fuel lines, petcock, and make sure the floats aren't stuck and are properly adjusted.

I would go with the 400EX out of all of those. It will give you the most room to grow. I think the smaller bikes will leave you wanting more after a while. The Suzuki LTZ 400 is a very good bike and it has two clones, the Kawi KFX 400 and the Artic Cat DVX 400. Those are water cooled where the 400EX is air cooled, and they perform better all the way around. They are great trail machines.

Mine didn't look horrible when I first did it, but it didn't take long to start chipping off. There are scratches on the fenders and on the side where my boot rubs when I kick it over. I'm sure once I get it in the dirt it will start to look like crap.

does it run ok now? Wish I would have read this sooner, cause I was going to say you had a crankcase leak, but as I read on I saw that you already had figured it out.

Welcome, all hail the two-stroke. How is the re-build coming?
-
Welcome, lets see your ride.

Nice ride foxgirl, long live the 2-stroke.
-
Nice ride, you should put a basket on for the TacoBell dog, so he can ride too.

I have one, won it in a raffle. Don't play video games really, but it is pretty cool. The kids love it.

That is a cool vid, that CR500 trike is damn fast.

I have to admit the quiet 4 stroke is great for hunting but i wouldnt trade my zilla for the world.
I hunt all the time on my TRX 500R, I hunt 4-strokes.

Welcome to the wonderful world of the 2-stroke. You have definately made a move up IMO.

The Raptor has a bigger slower revving engine with a ton of bottom end torque. The 450's are more racy, quick revving motors but not as much torque as the big Raptor. It is less work riding a Raptor because you don't have to worry as much about gear selection because it has so much torque. The 450's need to be kept in the right part of the power curve in order to be fast. Personally, I like the higher strung, quicker revving motors for balls-out riding, I think they are alot more fun. That's why I ride a 2-stroke, but if I were ever to buy a 4-stroke, it would be a 450, because they are snappier than the bigger bikes.
I was forced to buy a new quad
