It goes back to the days of ignition points- bikes and the like were the last to use them. It looks like an industrial finger nail file. Before CDI, if your bike started running rough, you'd pop the cover, file the points clean and then regap them- it usually made it run fine again. Some CDI are so tough to diagnose that often I long for the days of $4 ignition points instead of $400 CDIs.. not sure we went forward on that one! hahaha

I guess you got a good one too. Yamaha recommended going to a one-piece shifter because the slack in the stock multi link shifter induced people to stomp on it and bust up the tranny. So I paid thru the nose for a one-piece and it works great, even with a slightly modded engine... A son bought one ast the same time and it lasted about 8 years, til his girlfriend got mud stuck [rare here] and stomped first gear into oblivion.... he won't sell it to me either- what a shame cuz I could fix it!
Another Yamaha trick is always start it in neutral and if cold, squeeze the cluch about a dozen times before engaging the trans.. it worked fine for me so far

any more stickers? catalog or website? I'm interested.
Here it's customary to plaster the rear window of your truck.

How many folks know what an ignition point file IS? Don't be ashamed- a lot of car techs don't know what that tool looks like...

Thank you admin!

I know lots of ppl have snow plows- what's your favorite?
-
I have ended up with 5 ATCs: a US90, 2 ea 110, a 185 and a 200s. All these critters need parts....What's your favorite parts source?
-
I may have one of the few first year Raptors with the original transmission still in it.
Who else has one?
-
So haw many of you guys have an ignition point file in your tool box?
-
Anyone have one? Looks like great fun and I'd like to hear more about how you like/dislike it!

Tx check with Rocky mtn honda about the manuals, they are coming out of his library. OK?

Like quadnut I don't need anything complicated, just a basic phone. QNut you can pick up a later model Motorola for $20 on EBay... I have purchased several of them in the past for family as well.
-
Whats Motorola morse code. LOL:laugh:
Sorry I have no idea what you mean, but the phone works and my monthly is affordable this way...
-
I don't know of anyone who is making aftermarket pipes in the 93-95 range.... I have a stock system for the yammer to get it under 96...
-
If it doesn not miss in forward as well then you are just hitting the speed brake for reverse. Most quads have them.
-
I was thinking of an add-on to the stocker- it fits across the back- I don't rem the name of it.
-
you wanna have fun put a toomey pipe kit on that bad boy! It really wakes them up! I miss mine, should never have sold it. It's in Cali now [where it can't be ridden] and the guy wants too much for it even tho it's sitting in a shed for 6 years now with FUEL IN IT. grrrrr.
Don't feel bad RMH I have 5 Honda ATCs in the garage....

there is an add-on muffler for hunting I've seen on TV. makes em super quiet. Hit the big places like rocky mountain atv they'll have it.
Keep an eye on sound levels- the EPA is gonna be bringing them down on us!
Right now Oregon is 99 everywhere except the beach, which is 93. Before long it will be 93 db statewide!
Then my FMF will have to come off...

EXCELLENT MY FRIEND!
While you are out on the track I will make sure the beer garden is safe and sound, awaiting your return....
-
Gearhead x2, Yamaha does the same thing EXCEPT the 01 raptor 660.
-
We'll make it- no worries. We're nice folks right? hahahaha
-
Old POS MOtorola I got off ebay used. nothing fancy. that's why my cell bill is only $30/month... If this one breaks, I'll just buy another used one.
-
The rear differential is out of his... I havent found one anywhere. He wants to use HIS as a parts quad.
ATCs I have several- find out what wheeler he has and what he needs- I may have it! There are LOTS of old three wheelers around here- out in the weather, in barns, etc that are only good for parts. for the right price I drag them home...

HONDAS are pretty tough. About the only way to hurt them is to run them out of oil.... pull the spark plug out and turn it over- if it pushes your thumb off the hole, that's pretty good! oil level makes a huge difference in any Honda.
