  1. I have had good luck with Ebay lately. I needed a new side case for my engine, it was 1/3 the cost of new, but it came with the bearings and stator which i really didnt need but it kept me from having to take them out and reinstall, and the bearings and stator were good so i came out OK at 69.00, free shipping, now i have a spare stator. I was also looking for an OEM carb to rebuild, won one in an auction, i dont usually bid on stuff but this time i did, for 20.00, not expecting that, they usually go for a lot more, but 10.00 shipping and i still have to buy a kit, so i will have about 60.00 in it, only 10% of cost of new carb. So my point is if you look around you can get good deals on Ebay, but you have to be careful and look at things closely.
  2. How much do you use per tire, i have used it and its kind of hit or miss , i guess it depends on how big your leak is, and how long do you ride after putting it in, i have had it make my tires a little off balance.
  3. Real gutsy move, i like it, i hope everything works out for you. You can get you a U-Tube channel and film what you fix, those are really popular right now and people are making their living doing only that.
  4. I thought it was working normally, but always value your opinion, I havent really buttoned it up yet just got the cover on and attached the shift linkage. Thanks for the tip on Engineering supply, i will see if we have one around.
  5. I had to look that one up, wasnt sure what it was never seen one in my area. Very nice ! denniskirk.com sells parts for these.
  6. Just my opinion, if i go to the trouble of taking them off the rim , i would go ahead and put on new ones, if you want to reseal the bead, i use a harbour freight tire changer, but you might be able to break the bead with a large c clamp and reseal them without taking them off the rim. Have you checked to find out where they are leaking with soapy water. I have also used slime to seal leaks, not a big fan but it does work. A lot of people put it in their tires for insurance, i dont.
  7. Thats a good thing to do 97, do you mean you are not getting any voltage from your stator, or regulator. What about the pick up coil.
  8. Hadnt really spent a lot of time on it after i got it back together, its so hot out today i had to get something to cool off. Affter the sun went down a bit i went back out, put it in low the wheels would turn either way, put it in high the wheels would turn either way, high felt no different than low, put it in reverse and the wheels would turn forward but not backward, and it felt like it was lower geared, but i dont have the foot shifter hooked back up yet to see if that made any difference.
  9. Got it all back together again, while i had it apart i examined everything shift forks change gear checkked for all the washers went through the manual to make sure everything was back where it was supposed to be, and i found i missing washer on the shift shaft. Went to order the washer and it was on back order until august, i didnt want to wait for 1 washer, went to the hardware store got one but it wasnt exactly right, i think it will be OK it was only on the shift shaft. I will get the correct one when i have more stuff to order not paying 7 shipping for 1 washer. It is now shifting correctly hope this gets it. There are 3 positions along the run High, Low, and reverse, i can see and feel, i have the wheels off the ground, high, and low, not really sure about reverse yet. IMG_4091.mov
  10. In my area i would estamate it selling for between 2000 and 2500 because its in good condition, i have seen them go for less but there is usually something broken on them or need something.
  11. That is some thick paint, rim looks good, nice job.
  12. Agreed, i think something is pushing on the cover.
  13. I have come to the conclusion that they are all tough, some maybe more reliable than others, but everyone of them that i have worked on i have not been unimpressed with the build quality, even some of the chinese ones are good. A lot goes back to the way they are treated. They are made to handle grueling offroad conditions, and they do it well.
  14. Mine werent that easy, after i pressure washed big flakes of paint came off, from previous owners unprepped rattle can job, i could still paint over it but, im going to try to strip the rest of this poorly done paint off and start over.
  15. I think you will enjoy, the site, a lot of good information here, sportmans are nice , good luck with it.
  16. No greater memories than working with dad on some piece of junk we found, wheather it be cars or motorcycles, there werent any 4 wheelers back then.
  17. Yeah, not putting in that '#%!!!**arm would do it, sounds like you are coming right along with it , should be going soon. Hot weather same here 95-98 with heat index of 115. Good job catching that.
  18. I would also check to make sure you are getting consistant firing at the plug, and also check the compression.
  19. yeah at 12 we all did a lot of unsafe things, not even the thought of getting hurt crossed our minds, we were invincible.
  20. Glad I could help!
  21. Good you can do that, im the worst at charging people , i fix stuff for all my neighbors and they always try to pay me, but sometimes there are more important things than money, i know ican count on them if i need anything, but your situaation is different you quit your job, and have to eat, and pay stuff.
  22. Needles can stick and not slide fluidy, looks like yours is leaking around the needle, there is a piece thats hold it tight that can get out of position.
  23. Good job fixing getting the nut off and fixing the threads, yeah something isnt quite right yet or shifter wouldnt have locked up, i would keep rolling the wheels and moving the shifter and see if you can get it do anything.
  24. Yes that why I say you have to be careful with eBay it has helped me with expensive Oem parts lately , you really don’t want to put a 600 carb on a 700 quad, you really have to pick and choose what is the most economical and still come up with the same good end result. But no not really a fan of eBay either.
