  1. I am planning on buying a four wheeler within 2 months. I have only ridden a few times in the last three years. Im looking for something that isn't going to need a lot of up keep. Deciding between 300ex, 400ex, wolverine 350 manual or maybe a warrior?

I even kinda like the idea of a 250 ex i know it wont have a ton of power but its not chain driven so up keep will be lower and its kinda sporty looking.

what are some of your thoughts? any other atvs you can reccomend?

I used to ride a lot when i was younger

    Thanks

    Did you get anything?

  2. I did not get that one. That's because our mods caught it quick!

This site as many others I'm sure, will be targeted for SPAM/free advertising based on the size of it. It's just going to get worse as it grows. There is an e-mail verification process on registration and a CAPTCHA code. So, I think they do what they can to prevent it. Some will get by.

  3. Hi, I'm Mike from Nashville, TN. Just picked up a 2001 Yamaha Blaster 200 and this thing is a blast to ride! just wanted to drop in and say hey. One issue i have run into is the pads need to be changed. What is a good performance company to get pads from?

    Thanks!!

    -Mike

  5. Hi all - new here.

Just getting into ATVs, & can't find enough info to make an informed decision. I want a 500, 4X4, auto, shaft drive, IFS, 4 wheel disc brakes, & the AC seems to be my best bet. Does the AC use belts within its case?

I guess I'm looking for firsthand experience w/ the AC ATVs - no "I know this guy that knew this guy that had problems" internet forum stuff. I'm very mech inclined, so am confident I can fix anything that might break. I'll add a winch & little else.

I'll mostly use it for trail riding, to follow my little wild man around on his ATV, but would like one I won't have to worry about abusing if the opportunity presents itself. There's a club not too far from my house & I know most of the guys there. Some have "heard" that the ACs aren't worth my time, but I'd rather hear someone's personal experience over second hand info.

Thanks in advance for the help.

The one thing that stands out about Artic Cats is the suspension. They definately have a beefed up set up. I've ridden a 500 CC and found it to be very stiff. I like comfort and this is why I went with a King Quad. The Arctic Cat is also easier to rollover from what I have seen, sits high.

  6. Suzuki and Yamaha ATV Model Year Code Letter Designations

Have you ever wondered how you can identify the model year of a Suzuki or Yamaha ATV?

Suzuki and Yamaha assign a year letter code to the end of each model name. Perhaps you’ve noticed this letter designation in your Suzuki or Yamaha repair manual or owners manual but weren’t sure what it meant.

In descending order, the Suzuki and Yamaha year code letter designations are as follows:

    S = Suzuki

    Year Y S

    2008 X K8

    2007 W K7

    2006 V K6

    2005 T K5

  7. I got mine because I love digging up the truth:

A design flaw was causing the Yamaha Rhino ATV series to flip at an unusual rate, even when riders were managing turns at very slow speeds. Faced with a mounting number of complaints against this line, Yamaha has finally broken down and admitted that indeed a design flaw was causing the Rhino to flip.

  8. hey ajmboy... not sure why site didn't work for you.. its atvlounge.com . Check it out when you have some time. I know I will be glad when this weather passes, we are getting around 8 inches of snow here in Missouri. Its been a hectic winter. I rode on sunday, it was in the 70's... today its snowing like crazy.. I love this weather Thanks

I just checked it out. Not bad. Good luck with it!

Not sure if I listed my hobbies....so:

    ATVs

    Computers (websites)

    Fishing

  9. You deff. want an auto. since you havent rode a lot in the past.

look in you local newspapers and autotraders to find something to your liking.

Polaris,Yamaha, and Honda all make great Utilities in the range of 400cc-500cc.

Suzuki i sort of the botttom of the utilitiy world. but if you take care of it.it will last.

polaris has a problem with weight. they are heavier than most, but that doesnt take away from the get up and go, most reviewers say. Can-Am/Bombardier is the top of the power class. but they are hella expensive. Hondas are mega Reliable, but lack a bit in the power end. Yamaha seems to have a great blend of power and reliability. Kawisakis Brute Force, seems to maybe be a bit out of your range power wise [very powerful machines] but if you think you can handle it go for it. and just a fair warning. if its not Kawisaki,Suzuki,Polaris,Honda,Can-Am/Bombardier,Yamaha. I would STAY AWAY.

cheap chinese quads are both lacking in power and reliability.

My top machines for this class i would recommend.

    Polaris - Sportsman 450-500

    Yamaha- Grizzly 450

Kawisaki - BF 650 [if you want the EXTRA power]

    Honda- Foreman

this is like my longest post lol hope it helps :cute:

    Welcome aboard!

I have to agree with the above, measure your bed or you'll be buying a trailer! There are some nice 400-500 cc quads out there. Suzuki King Quad & Yamaha Grizzly are my 2 choices for you.
