Radiator is here saturday I have a date with my quad changing out the radaitor. Quadnut thanks for wondering where I've been. I have been helping a friend in his auto body shop and that would be the friend who painted my frame for me. We work some long days so most of the time I get home and rest & I don't even turn the computer on plus my computer got hacked so I had to change email passwords and was not able to remember what I used for QC to sign on.

Thanks for your reply guys. At this point she doesn't want to ride the eton 90 she wants to ride my 650 all the time. She would be good with just 2 wheels ox I'm just not sure about the clutch + the bike would be big enough for me to ride & let her take my quad. Quadnut it looks like the eton 90 like hers may sell for around 600.00 it's the 2001 90 2 stroke we gave 800.00 for it & shes put very little hours on it. the SL 100's on ebay are over 1000.oo for a nice one. Vintage bikes bring pretty good money here. Plus being a street & trail and gas at 4.00 bucks a gal. may be a plus for resale. I did find a couple 400ex quads for around 1200.00 so if I could trade and get around 1000.00 for the SL 100 I could get her a bigger quad.

My daughter has out grown her E-Ton 90 & not enough money to get her a bigger quad at the time. Heres the deal even trade for a 1970 Honda SL100 bike in very nice condition. You guys dont have to tell me I know it's not a quad and this is a quad fourm. My thinking is it will bring more money than the e-ton to put towards a bigger quad later on.

After many months I now have bought a radiator to replace my old one. Should be here soon! I can't wait to get back to riding. I'll have to mow the grass around where I parked my quad to find it.

I made a new account because I have not been able to sign in to my old account due to forgetness! Now I have been able to get on my old account & I want to use it. How do I get rid of the new one I just made.
-
Hey wylde1 now I found my old account. I had some email hijacking and had to change every thing and then forgot the email I used. Getting old sucks.
-
I don't know what happened to my QC account I had to signup all over.

For some reason QC e-mail messages was going into my junk mail. I thought it was strange not seeing anything in my e-mails. I'm still trying to find a good deal on a radiator for my quad. I have not had the time to take mine out & try to get it to a radiator shop to see if they can fix it. I thought about taking it out to day but it was 106 deg. outside I'm not in that big of a hurry.

Just wanted to say thank you to all that sent me a happy birthday message.

It's me again I didn't read far enough to know you got it out or you were posting while I was too. Thats a great price plus free towing. You might have to let him ride your quad as a tip so that would be about 45 mins of ride time and then add bonus time for free towing that would come to 1hr. & 45 mins.

Wylde the thermostat housing bolts to the intake not the head on most engines that makes the job easier & cheaper. Is yours an inline 6 or v8 ? and what year is it . I will pull a pic up on the computer to see what motor your working on. You may need to pull the intake if the thermostat housing bolts to it and take it to a machine shop if you can't get it out. Pulling a head is where it gets to be a bigger & more costley job .As far as the hole if you have to tap out the hole in the intake go with a helicore if you can & use a stock size bolt that will also depend on how much metal you have to work with.( I think helicore is what their called.) Alot of Thermostat housings are almost like pot metal there on the soft metal side and if you redrill it for a bigger bolt to fit thru the hole it might break when you tight it down based on how much metal would be left on it after drilling. The hardest part of pulling the intake if you have too is dealing with pulling the distributor and getting it back in right. If it's an inline 6 some of them the distributor is on the side of the engine block and you dont have to remove it. As long has the distributor does not go thru a hole in the intake and bolt to it you can leave it in place. You have to remove the carb and to put it back togather a new intake manifold & carb gasket would be the parts you would need. The reason I say this about using a machine shop is if the threaded hole gets too damaged you might be spending more money in the long run. If it bolts to the intake and your able to take the intake off and put it back on & just let a machine shop get the bolt out & fix the threads if needed could save you from a bad day. What ever part it bolts too intake or head if the bolt hole gets to messed up you might be buying a intake or head and that would suck! I was an automotive tech for Good Year & worked at a high performance warehouse I can pull"em apart & put'em back togather so it's no problem for me to take a head or intake off but I would depend on a machine shop myself for the broken bolt & broken tool. I know MONEY is a big factor for most of us and the more things we can fix ourselfs saves money. Sorry I don't have an easy answer for getting it out & my suggestion is what most people don't want to hear but the machine shop has the equipment to fix it and they deal with this stuff everyday. Might be worth making a phone call just to get a price. Good luck.

I'm doing pretty good the hand still gives me problems after the surgery. Trying to do auto body work & running a DA & hand sanding is very hard on my hand and neck. If my wife gets approved for disabilty I can quit. The friend I work for understands and knows I have to take a break when I can't hold on to the tools or sandpaper. The Q bond wont work out on the trial it has to be clean & dry. I will sooner or later find a radiator. The Q bond is no joke it's not one of these as seen on tv and it's not cheap 37.00 is the shop cost thru the paint shop suppiler you get 6 small bottles of glue & 3 bottles of the powder.

Mario I'm not going too call it fixed but patched. Rads are pretty high in price from 300 to 500 is what I have seen. I checked e bay. I should have kept the spare I had from the parts quad I had bought. The guy I sold it to I can't seem to get a hold of. Big if I run into him I might be able too buy it back. The Q bond is what my friend uses at his body shop I had never heard of it till then he guled an air hose with it that runs a 175 psi and it has held up. He had a demo kit and said he used it to glue all kinds of things togather he said if it broke it would be a new break and not the glud joint. I plan on getting a radiator but this will get me back to riding.
-
A friend told me about a product called Q Bond. I used it on the radiator and it seems to have worked. I took the quad out for a little trial riding and my daughter rode it for a while so far it appears to not be leaking. Now to get in some ride time.

It was not a quad But!!! it was a Yamaha a few days ago I took apart a bike for the gas tank to be fixed and painted. Today I got to ride the bike it was a little on the fast side ( cheap - a little labor for a little ride time)( Thrill it was FFFAAAASSSSSSTTTTT !!!!) it was a Yamaha R6 it was the first sport bike I have ever had a chance to ride. Can you get that motor in a Raptor?

Worked a 1\2 day and came home & took the prairie out and the radiator is leaking. It's the one part I had told myself I was going to keep when I sold the extra parts. But dummy me let it go. Now I will be buying it back.

A day off and I spent some of the time well riding & made a video of it but all went well so nothing dumb or funny.
-
It's going good still no ride time. My fingers are so sore it hurts too scroll my mouse alot of hand sanding. Once we get caught up I'll get in some riding & have a few extra bucks for gas.
-
I'm too tired to ride. 4 cars are painted and 2 ready to go in the paint booth & 1 is a color change so all the jambs inside the trunk & under the hood had to be sanded. And now we started on a Chevy Trailblazer we have to do the same on. It's going from white & orange to blue. Then there was a fender, hood, bumper & tailgate & a spray in bedliner pluse 2 sets of wheels. Thats been the week.

I've not had time to ride or get on on the computer. My buddy who painted my frame for me needed help in his body shop so I'm spending my days helping him. So hello and good night QC friends.

Thats what the owner of the BF said. He said he had a can-am but when the battery died on it he had to get something reprogrammed before you could start it and parts are not cheap or services. He said it was the fastest out of what he's owned but cost was too high for him so he sold it. -
What do you think of my Raptor Body Wrap?
