  1. The mud hole won over & over I made a video but can't get the thing to load. It turned into a winch test! But it was 1 bad day for me and the GoPro camera ran out of space on the memory card and what I got I can't share. My buddy laughed at me because I didn't wont to give up but I kept getting the quad bottomed out!
  2. I got to ride today it's been awhile and the best part is I know my Christmas gift works good. I got my quad stuck 2 times and the winch worked great to get it out both times. Were getting more rain now so sunday might be even more fun and my GoPro is charged and ready.
  3. My seat was starting to crack and come apart so I got a yard of vinyl for 6.99 on sell heres what it looks like now. would have been a great day to ride but had too much to do high of 73 today & sunday so I might get to ride tomarrow.
  4. The winch is installed now to get the quad stuck and try it out. Now lets see what I can find to go thru!
  5. My wife got me a winch during the black friday sell I hope to get it mounted tomarrow. We've had lots of rain so I might get a chance to try it out If i get it installed.
  6. Lets vote for a name change for Wyld1 to George ( George george george of the jungle look out for that tree) Glade your ok I can trade you some warmer weather & mud for some snow.
  7. Marry Christmas & Happy New Year wishes to all Quadcrazy members
  8. Some of you have seen the pics or vids of where I ride across from my house. Well it looks like a creek to many but it's just a small part of a bigger river. So today my friend ask if I have ever crossed the bridge and gone to the other side of the river. My answer was no I went and He said he's been riding there all summer and when he see other people out there they wavy in passing. It turns out it's set up for hunting and hanging out it has tables & chairs an enclosed deer stand. We went in thru a trail when we left we were on the field riding we came out and there was a gate where we ended up comming out and was posted no tresspassing. I'am going to see if I can find out who owns the land and see if they mind us riding there I don't want to get in trouble or disrespect someone. I hope they say YES!! That would give me plenty of trails to ride on.
  9. We get a free paper each week called the shopper in this weeks someone has an add for a 03 Yamaha blaster seller states it runs great and has some new parts the price is 500.00 bucks. Then our Tractor supply store has a black friday sale 2000lb. 12volt winch with 49ft. cable 50.00:
  10. It's me again found a 250 cat with irs so it turned out to be a better site than the Arctic cat site I was on did a little research 2004 Arctic cat 400 2x4 showed up & has the irs. It was a Suzuki build for Arctic cat it should be a good quad if it was taken care of when it comes right down to it some people can trash a new quad pretty quick & then you can find some older quads in better condition than a newer quad. You should be able to find reviews on line for your quad & just read thru them. Getting parts would be something to check into make sure their available.
  11. Well I tried a search for a 2wd 400 with IRS in the 2004 model line up for Arctic Cat & Suzuki I couldn't find anything on the web with IRS 2wd & 400cc.
  12. I think I would do the compression check before sinking in money trying to fix it. If all checks out good then it may be worth getting a carb. Some carbs can be beyond rebuilding. I went thru the same thing on a Honda xr100 I ended up getting a Mikuni carb for for 38 bucks new but now I have other problems it jumped time. So it seems to have turned into a money pit. Good luck and lets know how it goes.
  13. Not sure on the Arctic cat I do know Suzuki used the Kawasaki V-Twin motor in the Twin Peaks. But I think AC did use Kawasaki motors too! Rather it's full blooded Suzuki or AC with Suzuki power if the over all condition of the quad is in good shape I would just check the plug, air filter, change the oil & depending on how it's running if needed look into cleaning the carb. Is the motor marked as being Suzuki?
  14. So what your saying is you have a 04 2wd utility style quad with irs with a Suzuki motor maybe. Is the quad a Suzuki you said appears to have a Suzuki motor & it's a 400. Can you post pics of the quad. It's hard to say what to lookout for when you don't tells us what you have such as Suzuki king quad. Suzuki makes good quads just as Honda, Yamaha & Kawasaki but condition means alot. By your post your not sure what you have. A friend of mine bought a quad listed as a 2wd utility quad kawasaki when he took it to the dealer for work they told him it came as a 4wd and all the stuff had been removed & where the front shafts would go into the front huds had been blocked off. I would find the model & serial# and see what you can find out. You never know what people will throw togather and sale
  15. Is it all stock meaning no aftermarket pipe, air filter? You said you rebuilt the carb if you have an aftermarket pipe , performance air filter stock jetting won't work and it will not run like it should. You said it ran ok when you got it is it running worse now after the work. How did the old spark plug look & have you pulled the new plug back out and checked how it looks. A plug can tell you alot about how the motor is running. Rich or lean , burning oil etc. A compression check would help too & if the motor checks out ok I would look into the clutch if the clutch is slipping thats where your losing you get up & go. What are you comparing your quad too to say it feels sluggish it's self from how it ran when you got it or form other quads?
  16. It's slick but hey it's a Prairie with on the fly diff lok & super swampers.LOL The leaves are whats slick and then add rain too! It's fun. I had my one stuck I have learned not to play around nail it and hold on. It has been so dry we would need rain for 2 or 3 days before I would have to worry about getting stuck. Speaking of race. My friend got an 2012 Grizz 700 & me & my old Prairie 650 took him in a drag race. But I have to give him a second chance after he's had the quad for awhile and gets more ues to it. I do wish my Prairie was as smooth riding as the new grizz or BF750.
