Thanks guys I already cleaned out the tank & carb. I bought a new plug and I will put it in saturday morning if it starts then I will be taking a trip to our local dealer for new grips & brake lever. Then change the oil & air filter. What was left of the air filter fell apart I'm sure some of it had to get into the carb. I plan on getting a carb rebuild kit I think it would be a good investment.

Update now the bike wont start got spark & fuel. I did a VIN search on the bike the friend I got it from knows little to nothing about the bike. The tag on the frame is not in good condition right where it tells the XR--0. XR 0 is all you can see so by the vin it's a XR100 not XR80. Today while I look like a man training for a butt kicking contest and using the kick starter on the bike my daughter ask to ride my quad. I was ready to throw the bike down on the ground and go for a stress release ride myself but like an idiot I kept kicking it never did start didn't even come close.

Swampcat the reason for the 2 wheeler was my daughter has outgrown the E-Ton 90. With no extra money to spend. I traded for the bike. NADA on the quad was 625.00 the Honda with a little work could sell for more money. My plan is to teach my daughter to ride a bike and if she wants to ride my quad the bike is still big enough for me to ride for now. I plan on tearing it down repaint the frame and gas tank, handle bars, add a new seat cover & make sure it's running good & try and sell it for more than the quad would bring. Then put that towards another quad 250 to 400cc for Jennifer.

I have lost my mind or eye site. The bike is in need it's been awhile since I saw it last. It's not even a SL100 But I traded anyway it's a 1983 XR80 It needs a new seat cover, grips, front brake lever & a good cleaning. They said the last time it was running was December last year so I thought "O" crap & had almost a full tank of gas left in it. Well I got home took it off the trailer second kick it came to life & with my 6 foot 230 something lbs. I test rode it after a brake check and air in the tires. 1st & 2nd pulled the front wheel up and 3rd thru 5th pulls strong. It's not as nice as the quad but I'll get it looking good little at a time.

I hope it works out for me. The E-Ton gets a new home & the vintage Honda SL100 comes home with me. My daughter is pretty hyper about the trade. I feel the Honda will bring more money or at least as much as the quad.

I have super swamper vampires each lug that contacts the ground causes a shake of the bars and their bais ply. Can-am has made a big come back I remember their bikes on the race tracks when I was a kid. The cost is just to high for me to get a new quad. My truck was less then a new BF 750 and it's a 4x4 quad cab with ac/heat & power windows! LOL I just can't see spending that much money on a quad my buddy found a king quad 700 IRS 07 model for 2,800 and backed out the day he was to pick it up. That was a good deal to me the guy is moning out of state and needed to sell it.

Talking about speed my daughter was riding my prairie 650 and her sometimes friend wanted to race with her Honda 250 rincon. My daughter was smart enough not to race. I think God she listen when I said be careful and don't do anything stupid. If the friend wants to know how bad an old 650 is me and her dad can drag'em and she can watch from the sidelines.

It is fun my daughter & a couple of her friends were riding to we all had a good time. By what I have read they were the first big bore v-twin quads. I gave 1,600 for my prairie about a year & 1/2 ago it has plenty of power and climbs like a mountain goat. Soon it will need a new set of tires or at least the back tires replaced. I would like to have fuel injection & power steering. I did ride a friends 2012 BF 750i and I fell in quad love. It was alot smoother riding my friend deals in quads all the time selling & trading he told me I could change my tires and get a smoother ride. It felt like it was easier to turn and it was non p.s. I know a irs quad is going to be smoother over the bumps than my old prairie and at my age and back problems that helps.

It's a small section of woods across from our house it might be 5 to 6 acres worth due to over growth where nobody's been riding in years a good friend told me he used to ride the same trails and where were riding is less than a 1/4 of what they used to be. But it makes a pretty good place without loading them up & hauling the quads. I have a few friends that we plan on getting togather and ride on about 50 acres that one of the guys knows the owner. I have never been to Durhamtown. The closes to me is Highland park and by what I have heard it's more for bikes and they have an onsite KTM shop & sells. That might be why it's more for the 2 wheelers. As far as my quad I pray I don't have anymore trouble I had to replace the frame rebuild the front diff & most recent I got a radiator for it after many months. I had let a neighbor ride it and after he came back I could smell antifreeze. I have heard of Mike.

Dirt wheels has an add for a Redline Revolt if you have not seen or heard of this thing it's pretty cool they have a 72hp model and a turbo model with 100+ hp. single seater & they have a side by side. I checked out the videos after seening the add.

Now that I got the radiator fixed I got to spend sometime riding today. I found a new hill to climb. Now it's time to charge the Gopro and make a new video on the next day of riding. I hope others got to get out and ride this weekend.

This thread made me push my quad a little faster today 62 mph. Then my wife came out the front door & I'll leave it that. No I want I had rather seen blue lights flashing behind me now you know it wasn't good. I hope she don't take my key away.lol

I got my old prairie 650 up to 56 mph I have to backout of the throttle at that point. It starts getting unstable and starts wondering due to the tires I have. I was told it will reach 70 mph by the shop owner where I bought it. I don't have the nerve to try.

We have a mud bog near Waco, Ga that has opened and they have a atv / utv night. I hope to go watch one weekend.

I'm having trouble with the E-ton thunder 90. The electric start has stopped working & for a while the horn would still work but has stopped as well. List of what I've done so far. Made sure the battery was good even tried my battery from my quad tonight & it did nothing I cleaned all plugin connection and put dilect grease on all of them. I pulled the starter and put some juice to it and it works. I pulled the housing apart for the horn and starter button it's good and clean inside. I checked the fuse on the hot wire comming off the battery It has the spline part comming out the side cover for a kick starter so I used vice grips to start it and checked the kill switch button it works and the key switch is working. I don't see any other fuses I can change unless their covered up. I have no owners manual for this quad.

I had the chance to ride a 2012 BF 750 it was very nice but I have never been on a can-am. The guy with the BF 750 sold his Can-am and went back to the Kawas. I just know what he told me. With the Can-am he said if the battery died you have to take it in for service to be reprogrammed before you can start it after replacing or charging the battery. I don't know if that is true or not. Some Can-am owners need to jump in here. For showing off Can-am may be the brand to buy. The guy did say the Can-am was the faster of the 2 quads just less trouble out of the BF 750. Try them both out and while your looking don't skip the other brands.

Ox I loved how easy it was to fix. I'm glad I didn't start tearing it apart before I caught on that the choke was on. My friends mothers lawnmower would not start he used a battery charger to jump start it , pulled the starter off to check it & I don't know what all he did before his mom rememberd she left the blades engaged so the safty was keeping it from starting but he tore into before looking at it over for the simple things.

Ebay is where I found my radiator for 114.00 + free shipping used a new 1 is around 500.00 thats just crazy! The dealerships charge way to much. Just like replacement bulbs for cars we pay almost 5 bucks for 2 thru the shop I work for I can get a pack of 10 bulbs for under 5 bucks. My friend took his sons quad to the dealer they charged almost 80 dollars an hour if I'm not wrong. We charge 40 an hour at the body shop and it's alot harder to fix body damage than it is to rebuild a carb from a atv.

I'm not sure even where to buy a Kymco here. Since kymco is getting some good reviews in the dirt wheels magazine their making some headway as a chinese atv co. And yes the prices are going up. Linhai is just a name I never heard of till we were looking for a quad for my daughter. Just like kymco it was around for awhile matter of fact where we seen the Linhai the dealer could order a Kymco but he said they cost as much as the big brand names and are not worth him having them in his shop because they where not big sellers. I was not saying Kymco is better than Linhai just more know of. A pawn shop close by got into the power sports sells and they were selling the Kymcos. If Linhai starts getting in print adds in the atv magazines and more atv dealers stock and sell them their price will go up. It's crazy what a magazine add or review of a product can do. I had never heard about e-ton but it seems more people up north and Canada have. With all the cheap chinese quads out there it's hurt the market for the better built chinese quads. The E-Tons are the same as polaris & we have polaris dealers close by. Like I said before when you know of just 1 place selling a brand I feel it's better to not buy. I'm into RC planes & helicopters now I have to order all my parts off the internet & if I needed help from a human face to face I'm out of luck the hobby shops around me have closed up.

Have you tried the light after you start the quad with the pull rope. My daughters light will not light up unless it's running. Their should be a starter relay also if it goes bad it will effect the current to the starter. Like Ox said look at the fuses it's quick & a cheap fix finding a bad wire will be harder. You could puul the starter and use a battery charger to see if it is turning when you supply power to it. It's just safer and easier with it out of the quad.

I have looked at a Linhai before it did look like a well built quad but I had never heard of them. The guy who we talked to said it would last and hold up as good as any Honda at a cheaper cost. He was the shop owner & he owned a Linhai quad himself. He also had the cheaper chinese quads and stated they were buit cheap. Like swampcat said look at Kymco now & Cf Moto is getting good reviews. If i'm right E-Ton is chinese & thats what my daughter has it's a 2000 Thunder 90 2 stroke and we have not had to buy nothing more than a spark plug. So not all chinese quads are created equal you can see the build quality of the E-Ton over the Tao Tao & other cheap chinese quads Our neighbor bought a falcon 110 it was junk and kymco 50 and it's still running and has for years. I would be concerned about replacement parts with the Linhai If the shop closed their doors where I looked at the Linhai I couldn't tell you of another dealer in Ga. The Linhai was around 4 to 5,000 to me thats not cheap & I would rather buy a used name brand quad due to the fact we have plenty of shops around to service them or order parts from. Kia & Hyundai has closed the gap in the auto market and are passing by the big name auto makers thats been around for years. I'm sure China can build a good quad to compete it may not be a Linhai but only time will tell. Kymco is knocking at the door now!

I'm going to have to check with my doctor on that brain fart or cranial flatulence. It might just be I reached the 50 mark in june. LOL

I need to pay attention to detail I posted I got my radiator put in my quad & now it is running rich & will not idle. I guess it's been too long since I rode it my daughter rode it last. The Brain Fart I was running it with the choke on. you all who read this can laugh now. I'm sure I left it on & my daughter just rode and didn't know about the choke. Any way it's running good I went out and rode on the trails and spent alot of time trimming back brush and pulled a tree out of the way that was across the trail Thank God for 4wd & low gear.

I got the radiator put in friday now I'm having to charge the battery. I used the pull start to test ride the quad now their is more work to be done it's running rich and not wanting to idle. It had set for along time but I would start it up & just ride around the yard or around the neighbor hood. I did use a gas treament (sta-bil). Time to tinker with the carbs other than the idle problem it runs good.

How about this? A contest where we have to come up with a new quad brand & a name for a sport & utility quad and give a description of the two quads and market them. The best fake company wins!
