  1. A couple years ago, i helped my dad rebuild the engine on a 98 Suzuki 230. It has a clutchless manual and im not sure how many speeds. When you go to riding it, it is hard to get into, and out of first gear, and sometimes second gear is a real pain to get to. What needs to be done to fix the transmission, or transaxle on it? So far ive never had it higher than third gear and even it was a challenge to downshift from there.
  2. So far ive only done one oil change on my sportsman, and the next one cant be too far away. Ive been told more than once that when draining the motor oil on a sportsman i have to take out two drain plugs? The one on the black plastic reservoir cant be missed, but is there one somewhere on the bottom side of the engine, and if so where is it? I have looked and looked but never found it. If this is the case do i need to remove the skidplate to get to it? Any help will be appreciated.
  3. Once in a while i will see a Linhai four wheeler somewhere in my town. Though ive never that many of them from what i have seen they look decent, and seem reliable. I am wanting to find something cheap, reliable and that i can easily repair if anything ever goes wrong. See my plan is to have my Polaris just for hauling firewood, and something much cheaper, older (and paid for) to use on roughest and most difficult of trails. Is there anyone who owns a Linhai or other oddball brand who can tell me what their experience is? While it is not a requirement, i would so love it if my "old beater" was something not commonly seen or even heard of.
  4. Thanks for the welcome, how are you today?

  6. Hey there, i am new to this forum and am wanting to rebuild the engine on my old 92 yamaha big bear. Its a 350cc with the five speed clutchless manual, in other words nothing special. Oh, and it has that full time four wheel drive (actually 3wd) that is heavily overrated. I was wanting to know, is there anything about that engine i need to know before i attempt to rebuild it? Is it finicky in any way? Any certain parts to use and not to use? This four wheeler has had a very rough life, im almost tempted to save all the good and rebuildable parts and haul off the rest. Any advice and info will be greatly appreciated, thanks
