So quick question. Has anyone tried the cdi box in the oven trick?  I have posted a topic last week on my 1990 Honda fourtrax. Picked the bike up cheap. Bike had no spark so I went right to the obvious suspects. Cdi, stator, coil etc.  Stator coil was coming back with good readings but still had my doubts and also wanted to change it for the learning factor.  Anyway no good. No spark and the new cdi is two weeks away.  So I remember watching a video on YouTube about putting the cdi on the oven on 250 degrees for ten min! Somehow draws the moisture out if any! I tried this today and to my surprise the darn thing came right back to life.

So anyway just curious on the input on this. Would you change the box ? I resealed it with silicone? It's still working great and the bike is performing very well.

Just curious on everyone's input.

Thanks.

I've  never  tried it. Glad  it worked  for  you;  but  I'd  keep  that  new   box handy.  As  long  as you're  riding with  at  least  one  buddy  and  not too far  off the beaten  path I'd  leave  the resurrected box in the  machine.  It  may  live on forever  or  it  may   die tomorrow,  but that  can  be  said  about  just about  everything.

Yea i agree. New one going in as soon as I get it.  However this oven thing def worked.

If your at a loss and not sure about the cdi bc we all know there is no way to really test it I recommend trying this out first.

Just picked up an 84 LT185 ATV, I understand there was an accessory add  on that gave it electric start, anyone have any info about that kit?

Hi all.  New to the forum & quads.  Seems like a great place full of info.
I just recently picked up a 2005 Suzuki KingQuad LTA700.  I need a battery.  I've been reading up on conventional vs AGM types.  I have a Royal Distributing and Canadian Tire.  RD has 2 types avail for my year/Model a battery YTX16-BS CRANK $75, and BATTERY YTX20CH-BS YUASA $140.  Neither of these is the type from the manual FTZ16-BS.
from what I can tell... I think the only difference is the capacity with the $75 unit rated at 14 AH/10HR and the $140 unit rated at 18 AH/10HR ... which is the rating in the manual for the FTZ16-BS.  How much does this make a difference for nearly x2 the cost?
And about the models/type numbers.... what is important to know ... they all end in "-BS" but are the other details relevant or just manufacturer naming?

I just bought a 1984 Suzuki LT185 ATV and am looking for the OWNER’S manual. ( not a service manual)
I contacted Suzuki Canada but they have no paper or digital copies in their archives.
Does anyone possibly have a digital copy they’d be willing to share?

My 1992 TRX00 recently stopped firing.  I understand this is a common problem. I have ordered an aftermarket CDI unit.    TJ
