Linhai 300 idle speed

Recommended Posts

Hi my linhai 300 is hard to start and  engages gears at idle which is 1200 rpm was looking at cdi says on it 7500 rpm does this mean quad should idle at 7500 rpm as this would explain transmission problemb as idle is too high thanks gary

My guess is that bike should idle at about 800 to 1000 rpm warm and 1200 at maybe a choke position. If it’s reving high after it warms up you can make an adjustment on the carburetor or intake if it’s fuel injected.

7500 would be the maximum  revolution limit where the cdi would go into safety mode and shut down.

thanks for reply have adjusted carburettor wont idle slower without cutting out spark not the best so am thinking bad cdi or coil

Turns out it should idle around 1200 rpm was a broken clutch shoe causing gears to enguage at idle, just have the problemb of hard to start with weak spark so was going to start replacing coil  etc any input welcome

I would change the secondary coil and spark plug wire.  You can test the coil first but it’s cheap enough to replace. Don’t forget the wire also.

That is the secondary that you ordered.   Hopefully that’s the problem. I think it is but I’ve been wrong before.

I’m surprised that 1200 rpm is the norm. I would have figured 1000 max.

New coil in frank  not really better I put volt meter to stator jointers and all seem to be charging any suggestions what to do next

That with a fresh plug also ?

Only other thing I can think of would be the regulator. The stator is putting out proper voltage ? Battery is putting out proper voltage ?

yep battery plug and stator ok wasn't aware regulator could effect spark but its cheap enough to change any way will let you know thanks for help

Ok well that’s not good. So when you wire it up everything plugs right up and your putting wires right back were they were ? Any differences in the old to new ?

And have you reinstalled the old one to see if it does the same thing?

Have you tried to put the old one back to see if it does the same thing ?

My feeling is whatever is going on will be a dead short so take a deep breathe and let’s start looking  over things to see if there is a wire shorted out someplace or a faulty ignition connection etc.  What’s the set up ? How May wires are plug in and how many are bolt up.  There has to be a dead short someplace here.

Just before this issue the electronic 2x4 4x4 stopped working so guess electrical issue ...not my strong point 🙃

On well it’s one of mine so let’s get the manual downloaded and pick it apart. Give me a little bit

Do you have the acceptable range shown in the manual for ohms on the pick up coil ?

My guess is possibly the cdi shit the bed when you used the cheap rectifier. Something caused a dead short.

OEM always when it comes to the cdi and the rectifier.   The stator you can get away with but I’ve never had any luck with the cheap parts like a cdi and or regulator/rectifier.

That could be a solenoid, a dirty plug or connection, switch contacts etc.  Nothing burnt up though right ? Fuses were all good prior to the rectifier swap out ? Nothing happened to the bike? Got banged? Any service work done that could have resulted in a pinched wire ? Check along the neck of the bike on the front end where everything comes up to the controls. I would think you should also unplug, clean and add dialectic grease to the connections as well because this honestly could be something along those lines.

So this '02 Taurus with only 87k miles on her starts right up every time multiple times a day except for twice in the last 3 weeks. The first time was 3 weeks ago and the second was today. It happened the same both times. Turn the key and stop to let the pump prime, then when I turn to the start position the engine turns real slow and sort of in fits. Usually when a battery is low the engine turns slow but in rhythm. During my 2 starts the engine barely seemed to turn and the crankshaft rpm seemed to vary. On both starting events I let off the key and tried to start 2-3 times with rests in between. But then eventually on the 4th try it starts right up just as quickly as a normal start.

I have No clue as to what might be causing this. Only thing I know to do is, next time it does this to put a voltage meter on the battery to see if it's weak. Actually though, because both events the engine ended up starting up like normal that would indicate something other than the batt. Electrically this car is a little odd though. The interior light never comes on when the doors are opened, for years, and then last week it comes on twice when one of the rear doors is opened.

Pushing the start button the engine turns and will forever without starting. But if I use the kick start it will start with one or two kicks everytime, any idea as to what is going on. New good battery and coil, I'm ready to try anything. It's a great bike, but this is getting anoying. Thank you.

My four wheeler when i first got it seemed like it was very slow when i first got it and it had no throttle response so i replaced the belt and cleaned all of the rollers thinking that would solve the problem from what i read on the forums. well it turned out that it wasnt. so i went to the next thing i took out the injector to check it out and i seen that there was a tiny bit of debree in it so i cleaned it and it seemed to improve a little bit. but still did not solve the problem. i later found out how to find the trouble codes out from the lcd screen using a paper clip on the diagnostic port and it showed the code which stood for no codes C00. i also forgot to mention that the throttle position censor is working perfect. before i started all of this the four wheeler ran just not to its potential. after my friend and i did the trouble code test the bike wouldnt even start anymore and the injector would spray for a few seconds for the start up then it stops and the fuel injection light comes on and blinks. the four wheeler wouldnt start anymore. i took it over to the local shop and they hooked it up to the computer to see if there was any codes and it still showed it was free of codes. they hooked it up to the fuel pressure gauge and we found that it was making 22 pounds and it should be making around 43. i then bought a new fuel pump and put it in. it now starts and runs for a few seconds and then it stalls out and the fuel injection light comes on again. which then leads me to think it is the ecu now but i want to be sure before i invest around $500 more into it. any opinions on whether or not anyone thinks this is the problem or if they have had a similar problem before would be really appreciated. sorry for writing a novel and not spelling very well. also i forgot to put the year in the title it is a 2007
