I have a 2001 yamaha warrior YFM350x and started to work on it. The person who I got it from put a new top end kit in it. I already took the top end off and checked, brand new still. Had to clean the valves so it can get better compression. Put it back together and turned it over and and made good compression but also had a loud clanking noise at the bottom, put hand over carb and stopped making the noise when I turned it over. And won't start.  I know it is not the top end. Just cleaned it and valves. Need help trying to figure out what's the problem.. thinking it's the crank rod but don't know. If it is the rod can i just get a new rod for it?(would be great if so). Or does it need a hole bottom end . In need of help.

Odd that restricting air flow would make any difference in the bottom of the motor. Not to be obtuse, but are you certain it's in the lower half? Normally the rods are pressed on the crank so not average DIY stuff.

Not sure. Just sound like it's at the bottom end.. I check the rod and moves side to side on the crank but don't know if that will effect it. Looks like the wrong size but not sure.. going to take the engine fully off the frame today and disassemble it..

When you have the head off again try to move the crank up and down to see if there is play in the bearing.  Not rotating but move up and down.  Any play in that direction and it a blown main bearing.  Side to side is ok.

Im aware that this relay needs a positive (+) and a negative (-) to activate the other side. The blue wire is the neutral wire so when in neutral it gets ground. The green wire is from the parking break; when you pull the break in it gets ground (-). however one of those two needs to be neutral so that the positive from kill switch can go to the starter relay. The ground from the starter relay is from the start switch. Which one (neutral or parking break) should have a positive (+) voltage?

I’m brand new to 4 wheelers and just bought a 1987 Yamaha Moto 4 350. It has good compression and fuel, but no spark. I’ve looked high and low trying to find how to test all the components of the ignition system, but can’t find anything. This has a new CDI box on it, but I suspect it might be the stator. How do I test the stator on this? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Do any of you have ATV's for your children or grandchildren?   My grandboys are fairly responsible, but they ARE boys!  The ride the heck out of this 4 wheeler.  Any suggestions what I can do to keep it running longer....?

Need some help putting a new ignition switch on this thing. I'm not finding homes for all the wires. I can hook up the white wire and brown wire, But the switch has a B/W and Solid Yellow wire i can't find a home for, and there aren't any more wires in the vicinity from the harness that match this, except one red wire with a double female end crimped on, and a few B/Y grounds. None of the wiring diagrams i've founder or have been given match.
I'm also wondering if i have the wrong switch? some switches appear to have 4 wires and other just 2, the Brown wire and a White wire.
I'm at a loss here. Thanks.
