Even more reason to not start bypassing rev limiters just yet. There are very good rebuild kits for the carbs that have everything inside the package.  Start there and get familiar with the carb, jet size and air/fuel setting.
Unless the carburetor body has a stripped part ?

That's interesting.  I guess somehow the reverse gear rev limiter is interfering with forward gears as well.  Some of them have a reverse limiter lockout on the handlebar, so i wonder if grounding or breaking ground would just disable the reverse rev limiter completely....

Neat find!

I hope this is good info. A buddy of mine thinks he got a bad buy on a quad master. He's not close to where I live or I would go help him plus he's more then able to fix sh**. He's been through everything on the bike so this will be the only thing left !

Im on the iPad when I'm home, phone when im out and about.  I need to set up the ipqd like you said a desk top view?

I'm not sure if you'll be able to see mp4 videos.  What happens is that when people upload videos from an apple device, it's .MOV file but other devices are .MP4. Apple doesn't play .MP4 natively from what I understand.

@Frank Angerano there are a couple things to check before modifying the wiring from the research i did overcharging/ undercharging can cause issues that are similar and also the cdi can go bad and cause a similar issue, also check the valve adjustment. i will try to get better pictures of what i did but the neutral switch should be grounding the wire going to the cdi to tell it it is in neutral this also allows the starter to be activated. In my case the wiring on my quad is already hacked up so i had no problems cutting the wire and if it didn't work splicing it back together.

No issues cutting and re splicing. All the above mentioned testing was done. I was going to put the cdi on the chopping block as well. But I would like to try a few more things before he spends the money on the cdi.

@Ajmboy is there a set up for my iPad that will show different desktop then my phone?

If you are using Safari, should be same as iPhone I think, where when you hit the share button it brings up an option to request desktop site:

I have a 2000 quadmaster doing the same exact thing. I've replaced the CDI with a new OEM unit.  Replaced the stator and coil with aftermarket units.  I've run a new wire to the coil.  I've cut the blue/red wire.  I've cleaned the grounds. All to no avail.  I'm at my witts end.

Hi all.  New to the forum & quads.  Seems like a great place full of info.
I just recently picked up a 2005 Suzuki KingQuad LTA700.  I need a battery.  I've been reading up on conventional vs AGM types.  I have a Royal Distributing and Canadian Tire.  RD has 2 types avail for my year/Model a battery YTX16-BS CRANK $75, and BATTERY YTX20CH-BS YUASA $140.  Neither of these is the type from the manual FTZ16-BS.
from what I can tell... I think the only difference is the capacity with the $75 unit rated at 14 AH/10HR and the $140 unit rated at 18 AH/10HR ... which is the rating in the manual for the FTZ16-BS.  How much does this make a difference for nearly x2 the cost?
And about the models/type numbers.... what is important to know ... they all end in "-BS" but are the other details relevant or just manufacturer naming?

I just bought a 1984 Suzuki LT185 ATV and am looking for the OWNER’S manual. ( not a service manual)
I contacted Suzuki Canada but they have no paper or digital copies in their archives.
Does anyone possibly have a digital copy they’d be willing to share?

Just picked up an 84 LT185 ATV, I understand there was an accessory add  on that gave it electric start, anyone have any info about that kit?

      Background,
This winter (Dec.) I was plowing and everything just died, just quit.  No lights, no pull start, No nothing.  I've had this problem before and I changed the voltage reg and it ran fine for over a year. Then this.  So I changed it again, thinking this was the same problem.  Tried to start it and a small pin hole in the CDI appeared with electrical smoke.
Months go by and I finally decide to just replace parts (I'm Horrible at electrical issues).  I changed the stator, new CDI, new Voltage reg, new starter solenoid, tested the starter (prefect), charged the battery.
Went to start it and the solenoid rapidly clicked.  All the dash lights on, headlights work.  Pull stared it and it fired right up no issues.  Looked into the rapidly clicking starter solenoid and it was not enough juice in the battery.  Took the battery completely out and hooked up a jump box to it turned the key, light on, everything looks good.  Pushed the starter button and it fired right up ran great.  Turned it off to test it again, Turned the key and nothing.  No dash lights nothing.  Took the jump box off and pulled started it.  Started it right up.  Re-hooked the jump box, still nothing.
      Any Ideas?
