2001 suzuki quadmaster wont move

Recommended Posts

I can push the belt down about 1.5-2 inches movement in it.

My bike does have a 4x4 selector switch.

I could get all 4 wheels in the air that is where i was heading next was to see if it will turn the wheels with no resistance on them.

Ok definitely try getting all wheels off of the ground and see what happens as far as going into gear. Also see what happens when you go into 2x4 as well.

Double check your brakes aren't locked up.

Last thing I would check are your differential drives.   Open the fill plug and feel around for any damaged gears. Don't move wheels while your fingers are feeling around in there. You may have blown a differential.

Glad to hear you found the problem. I've  been tied up with work and stuff around the house so i haven't been on the forum much.    Off  the top of my head I think the main sleeve hub nut is about 65 foot lbs. the springs are about 7 -8 foot lbs and the spring support bolt was 16 ish.  I like to use thread lock on all parts.

having an issue with the unit when running under a load up a hill or in high gear, seems like the belt is slipping, there is a clapping sound coming from the primary clutch like it releases and snaps back in. i don't think I should have a noise like that. this is a friends unit and he has already replaced the primary twice with the same result.
not sure where to look next

Sorry I suck at these forums so if you see this submitted under update status, my bad. Anyhow this is a new shock for a 96 Yamaha Kodiak 400 4x4 it fits my 96 Yamaha Timberwolf 250 4x4 perfectly. Little narrower are the bottom than the original but everything else is perfect. I extended it to almost a half in from full extension because I’m pushing 350 pounds.  It rides and hold me well. So if any of y'allRace driven shock. have been looking for one and didn’t want to do the research here it is.
