Ranger 800XP, issues post rebuild

Odd issue I'm hoping you fine folks can help diagnose. Recently rebuilt 800XP with new crank, rings, etc. Rod bearing went south so had to replace the crank. Got it back together fine, but only starts at half throttle and doesn't really even want to do that. Checked timing again and dots are perfect, compression 170 on both cylinders, fuel pressure 40ish.  Anything I could run down that I'm missing?

Could the injector wires be crossed ? Or ignition ?

 

Even though the valve timing is right, it may not be phased with either ignition or injectors.. Seen it on cars.

@Mech Good call, turned out to be injector wires crossed.  I helped my oldest rebuild the motor and drop it in and he put it all back together.  Woops.  The tip was last night when I could smell fuel a bit while cranking it over.  In EFI the only possible reason to smell fuel while cranking is no compression or a mismatch in squirt and bang.  I knew timing was perfect, that only left fuel and the spray pattern was clean.

      Timberwolf 250 starting issue

      Hi all. I have a timberwolf 250 2nd that will not start.. I thought it was out of time bc the guy I got it from said it just quit on him. The tensioner had a nut welded to it and it was like2 teeth off. I installed new tensioner and chain and it still will not start. It has fire and it will not hit off brake cleaner. It has compression. Haven't put a gauge but I'm sure it will crank and run with what it has. I double checked my work and it's still in time. Spot on. Both valves move. I'm about to put a feeler gauge on them and I'll cone back but other than that any ideas?

      Greetings to all.  New to the forum, but not to ATVing.  I started when they only had 3 wheels!  Getting back into riding.  Polaris 850.  Too many bells and whistles, but what do you do.  Scouting out places to ride legally now.

      on my honda trx 500 we have no power to the ignition switch for starting or ignition
      we have lights and horn working
      all fuses are fine
      have traced through the harness and cant find any broken wires or bad connections
      from what we have gathered so far the pgm fi unit is not sending any power to the fuel pump relay to power everything up.
      if we put power direct to the ignition switch plug then everything works but wth the key in the off position.
      does this sound like a faulty pgm fi unit?

      Does anyone know forsure if u can swap out the Crank Case on a 2001 kawasaki Lakota 300 sport  with a kawasaki Bayou 300 Im seeing yes and no all over some say the mounting position is different so you can't swap the cases but everyother inernal engine part you can swap then im seeing no problem bolts right on can someone plz clarify who knows forsure

      Maybe someone has the answer to correct a long cranking but did start after maybe 10 seconds?
      Temp was mid 70's, with ATV not run for maybe a month but on battery maintainer with full bat charge noted.  The atv started, but then died a couple times after repeated attempts.  But when run awhile everything was ok.  Although when starting now I do hear the fuel pump humming but seems to take a few ,"long" seconds before full prime pressure.
      Is this typical of a failing fuel pump?
      I've priced a replacement fuel pump on eBay for less than $40 so am tempted to simply replace it for good PM.  Just had all covers off so looks really easy to replace.
      Any ideas?
