Bummer...  And here I am needing a wench...

My problems aside though...  I don't think you would have blown your ECU by jumping the solenoid. Is that sorted now though ?

Could you post a picture of what wires you have in where the solenoid fits ?

A description of which one goes where if you can trace them would be handy too, but I'll have a look in some manuals and see what they usually have.

I couldn't find any diagrams of three post solenoids in any of my yank bike manuals..  Was the old solenoid three post ? and were they all being used ?

How many big wires have you got ? How many small ones ?

There is a service manual for  your quad in the downloads section. The wiring diagram illustrates a different solenoid than the pictured one  but I  gather from  it that  on that solenoid the red goes to the starter,  the black  is to  battery, and the small yellow wire would go into the connector with a yellow wire /red stripe. The small black/ white stripe would connect to the white/ red stripe wire on the machine.. There  is no connection from the machine to the post with the green top.

Those are only  guesses on my  part since the  solenoid looks different from the wiring diagram illustration  and the color coding on the small wires.

Your best bet to  be sure is to  go  to  a Bombardier/ Can-Am  dealer and ask their service people.

I find navigating through this site difficult since it's got a lot of advertisement but that aside maybe I can help you if you haven't resolved your solenoid wiring issue. Are you still trying to figure it out?

The two smallest wires are the trigger wires. The post that's painted red goes to the battery, the post that's painted black may or may not go to the starter motor, the same as with the green post. I can write you a procedure to actually test it and confirm before you install it. My background is a power engineer. Let me know if you still need help!?

      Hi all,
Looking for some help on a starter/bendix issue. Can Am outlander 450 2017. While cranking to start, the starter spins and engages into the ring gear. After a few seconds the bendix retracts while still spinning and there is no damaged teeth on the drive pulley.

The one I need to replace has a 2 wire plug coming out of it. Searching eBay I see tons of them with only 1 wire . WTH???

I have a 1997 Yamaha Big Bear 350 4x4. It used to start right up. Then all of a sudden it wouldn't crank. I have a schematic for it so I started tracing the problem. I had no power at the starter solenoid. According to the schematic the power comes from the neutral switch and through the starter circuit cut out relay. I cannot locate the cut out relay on this machine.. If I apply power to the relay it will crank with the start button.
The neutral switch is hard to get to with all the brackets on this thing. I did find out from all my research that if I apply the rear brake lever it will start.
Does anybody know if the cut out relay exists and where it might be found?

Hello, can someone help me? I have a MAP error code 102-3, and the MAP has 4 wires: light blue, orange, purple, yellow. I’m getting different results on what the wires are. I don’t have wiring diagram. Can someone confirm which is ground, 5v, MAP, and Temperature?
