My 2005 Artic Cat ATV (250, 2x4) started up and I started to move when it abruptly stalled and died. Now when I turn the key, nothing at all happens. The "N" indicator doesn't light up, the motor doesn't crank, nothing. Any clues as to what might be the problem?

Blown a fuse.. Get a wiring diagram and start checking the power from the battery onwards using a test light. Check the earth cable too..

A test light is better to use for that purpose than a digital meter which won't detect bad/dirty connections.

Check the battery has power and an earth and then start tracing.. I'd jump to the main switch first off after checking the fuses since there's no lights or neutral or anything.  If there's power there then onwards, other wise go back towards the battery.

And check the main switch is working...  Test before(on the power side), and after making sure it does switch on.

I have seen this problem before and it ended up being the switch itself burnt out.  Do what mech said and test all then test switch itself to see if you are getting power to it if so then look at switch for problem. Hope this helps

Hi, please forgive my ignorance but when you mention the switch, are we talking about the ignition switch with the key? Thank you.

I'm working on a 2002 Polaris Sportsman 400 with shift indicator problems. The indicator panel only will show Neutral and Reverse. If it's in High or Low, the indicator will show "R".
I have replaced the three position indicator switch on the transmission. There is also a two position switch on the tranny that I didn't replace. If anyone is familiar with this problem, please let me know what I need to do. Any help is greatly appreciated!

Maybe someone has the answer to correct a long cranking but did start after maybe 10 seconds?
Temp was mid 70's, with ATV not run for maybe a month but on battery maintainer with full bat charge noted.  The atv started, but then died a couple times after repeated attempts.  But when run awhile everything was ok.  Although when starting now I do hear the fuel pump humming but seems to take a few ,"long" seconds before full prime pressure.
Is this typical of a failing fuel pump?
I've priced a replacement fuel pump on eBay for less than $40 so am tempted to simply replace it for good PM.  Just had all covers off so looks really easy to replace.
      Any ideas?

HI everyone. New to this forum. I have 98 Kawasaki Bayou 400 with an apparent electrical issue. I have the Clymer manual, but I am not exactly sure where to start. The issue started a month ago and the neutral light would go on and off intermittently. Eventually it went completely off , and I thought it was a shifting issue. I took the case off and checked the clutch and all mechanical shifting components are good, so I think I eliminated that. The switch sometimes works, sometimes doesn't. Last time I tried, I did hear a clicking sound near where the battery is right before the light went out. Does anyone have any ideas where to start? Hoping this is an easy fix.
