Saying hello from Fond du Lac WI. My boys 14 and 11 and I love to trail ride in northern WI (Pembine area) on the county trails and also at our local track. My 14 year old really likes the air. He has a Yamaha Raptor 660 with many upgrades. My 11 year old is trying to like the air much like older brother. He also has a Raptor (350). I have an 06 outlander max 800. I also like the air, my machine likes the air but doesn't like the landings ie; broken plunge joints, axels, etc.:aargh: Recently went to the Badlands in Attica IN highly recommend. Something for everyone, sand, hills, MUD, MX track, trails, MUD, pipes, chutes, and MUD!! We're going to Loretta Lynn's fall ride sponsered by the Southern Woods Riders this Oct. 17th thru 19th. Should be a good time. Anyway that's all for now. Keep em rollin, bigdaddy:usflag:

Welcome to Quad Crazy. I have heard that Attica is amazing. I am in TN but haven't attended one of the rides at Loretta Lynn's. I have just been there for the races.

Wow...I packed a small soft side cooler with an ice pack  at -4 F and inserted my Type K thermocouple sensor inside so I could monitor the temperature without opening.  After 3 hours  the inside temperature was 60  F...OMG!   The ice pack  was solid frozen.   Standard temperature for safe storage is < 40 F.     What I found by asking was that there should be no air space in the cooler.  Packed with Ice preferably ice from connivence store (normally 0 F of less).  Food should take up  short day trip1:1 ratio.
      Good coolers are expensive.

Fixing for a friend. Atv was at a different friends house to be fixed and he rebuilt the carb and had it running nice, then it shut off and no more. He replaced the key and the coil.

So he got busy, so I am helping, I checked the wiring from the stator to the cdi, and from the cdi to the coil. All is good. I checked resistance on the pickup coil, good, and on the source coil, open. I buy a new stator (China) and the 4 prong plug only has 3 wires in it while mine has all 4. I checked resistance in the source coil and it's in the 300's. I pulled one of the old pickup wires out of the old stator and wire it in the new one. Still no spark.

Why do the wires differ, I checked the VIN again and it's "J" for the year and I got a 1988 stator. Please help!

We rode here the day before the event. This is a DCNR state forest trail system. The story behind the name is miners would put their bottles of whiskey in the local springs to keep them cold until their shift was over. Part of the trail system is on old strip mines so some areas are barren, others are full forest.
