Please help, someone - anyone.

I'm trying to correct some problems with a friends Brute Force and I'm down to the last one, that I know of.

The 4X4 fuse hast to be pulled when the ATV is parked or the battery will go dead. If the fuse is not pulled the ATV's battery will go dead overnight. However, when the 4x4 fuse is pulled the ATV can sit for days and the battery will NOT go dead.

Can anyone explain and point me in the right direction to fix the problem. I'm think the 4x4 relay is bad or there has to be some sort of short circuit. The 4x4 and switch work fine, it just runs the battery down when parked and I'm getting tired of having to pull the fuse every day.

Any help will be GREATLY appreciated.

Thanks in advance for any and all HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:confused::confused::confused::confused::confused::confused::confused::confused::confused::confused::confused::confused::confused::confused::confused::confused:

Get a digital multimeter if you don't have one and start testing the circuit, I think you have the right idea, just start checking any connection in the circuit that you can get to. Check for voltage where there shouldn't be any. Switches and relays, the actuator itself. Relays are cheap, I would replace that and go from there. As a last resort, you can always just put an on/off switch in the curcuit, it is not the best solution, but it will keep the battery from dying and would be easier than pulling the fuse.

Dirt Demon is right on the money with that, get a multimeter and test the circuit. Do you leave it in 4WD when turning it off? With the multimiter in place, test the 4wd on and off (before shutting it down). I'm thinking 4WD actuator or switch.

What year and how many CCs? 650 or 750?

Hi all.  New to the forum & quads.  Seems like a great place full of info.
I just recently picked up a 2005 Suzuki KingQuad LTA700.  I need a battery.  I've been reading up on conventional vs AGM types.  I have a Royal Distributing and Canadian Tire.  RD has 2 types avail for my year/Model a battery YTX16-BS CRANK $75, and BATTERY YTX20CH-BS YUASA $140.  Neither of these is the type from the manual FTZ16-BS.
from what I can tell... I think the only difference is the capacity with the $75 unit rated at 14 AH/10HR and the $140 unit rated at 18 AH/10HR ... which is the rating in the manual for the FTZ16-BS.  How much does this make a difference for nearly x2 the cost?
And about the models/type numbers.... what is important to know ... they all end in "-BS" but are the other details relevant or just manufacturer naming?

I just bought a 1984 Suzuki LT185 ATV and am looking for the OWNER’S manual. ( not a service manual)
I contacted Suzuki Canada but they have no paper or digital copies in their archives.
Does anyone possibly have a digital copy they’d be willing to share?

I am trying to diagnose a no spark issue with my 02 Big Bear 400 and I am really hoping it is not a CDI.  I have done the test on the stator and I believe that is faulty.  I ordered a new aftermarket one from a the jungle website and it tested bad right out of the box so I am waiting for a different one to arrive from an ATV parts supplier.  I started looking out of curiosity at CDI units and it seems if it is for a big bear you are SOL.  Kodiaks, no problem.  Big Bear. No such luck.

The battery on my Big Bear drops completely down in the battery compartment nothing sticks up to grip too, plus there is only 1/8" clearance along the sides, no way to get a grip on it to pull up out of battery compartment. I thought about putting a piece nylon strap under the battery and leaving enough up each side to give me something to pull it up out ff the battery compartment or using a big zip tie around the battery.
Any others have any ideas or have had this issue.
