Is it possible to put a motor from a big bear 350 into a timberwolf? Reason I ask is that I have a timberwolf with a bit of a rod knock, and I have big bear with a bad rear end and axle with a good motor. So, is it possible?

I would think it is possible since they are both yamaha 350 engines. You will however need to do some research, unless someone here has done this already.

What year are the machines?

I have a big bear 350 that has a timberwolf 350 in it and it will not work at all I've tried everything I tried to change some wiring I'm trying to buy new CDI I've done just about everything it's got all Big Bear wiring in it and it just won't run but the timber wolf 350 and Big Bear rear end are the same just swap them out

Yamaha change their cdi units a lot, and it's hard to figure which one you need, and the stator, wiring loom, switches and cdi all have to be a matched set or it's likely it won't spark. The cdi's can have several different number of wires, but that isn't enough to identify them, and the switches have different numbers of wires, but that isn't enough to identify them, and the stators have different numbers of wires, but that isn't enough to identify them either..  They really are mongrels.  haha.

Start a new post about it and I'll talk you through how to get a matches set of components.

Hi all. I have a timberwolf 250 2nd that will not start.. I thought it was out of time bc the guy I got it from said it just quit on him. The tensioner had a nut welded to it and it was like2 teeth off. I installed new tensioner and chain and it still will not start. It has fire and it will not hit off brake cleaner. It has compression. Haven't put a gauge but I'm sure it will crank and run with what it has. I double checked my work and it's still in time. Spot on. Both valves move. I'm about to put a feeler gauge on them and I'll cone back but other than that any ideas?

I know this is long shot but, would anyone know where I can find a good used or new original carb for a 2000 YFB250 Timberwolf 4x4.
Every Yamaha dealer I look at on line, it says not available. I have tried 2 aftermarket carbs, and they suck, I would like to find a used original if possible.
And I have another question. Everyone says about Chinese aftermarket stuff is junk, Where does the aftermarket stuff come from when the original in from China ????
