Just bought my first atv this weekend. It's an '87 Honda Fourtrax 250. Seems nice for a beginner. Everything is in great shape on it and it runs well too. Just started the maintenance on it tonight. Oil change, diff fluid change, new spark plug, adjusting valves, fuel line, and replacing vacuum lines that are broken.

Not new to engines or backyard mechanics. Been restoring cars since I was 17 and am now 29. Definitely not an expert, but I'm not a dummy. LOL!

      I am pretty new to ATV/UTV/Small engine repairs and would like input on your absolute must-have specialty tools for maintenance and repairs. Aside from the obvious wrenches and sockets, what are some more specialty type tools you use for troubleshooting? I don't plan to open a repair shop or anything, I just do this as a hobby.       honda trx 500 fm foreman 2012 no start issue

      on my honda trx 500 we have no power to the ignition switch for starting or ignition
      we have lights and horn working
      all fuses are fine
      have traced through the harness and cant find any broken wires or bad connections
      from what we have gathered so far the pgm fi unit is not sending any power to the fuel pump relay to power everything up.
      if we put power direct to the ignition switch plug then everything works but wth the key in the off position.
      does this sound like a faulty pgm fi unit?
