Excellent! they tried that on us here, but wqe swapped some lands on either side of the north south highway. so in about a year, you'll be able to ride from the Southern border of Oregon all the way up to near Madras off road! almost 200 miles north.... sounds like fun!

Thats good news !! The greenies are trying to do the same here but no luck yet :yes:They are trying to shut down a big housing project here because of praire dogs (we just shoot them or poison them )

It's really good to hear of the victories for our side, a 200 mile playground, that's awesome. CONGRATULATIONS !

you guys and the stupid rules you have to follow. I just load up my quad and drive for 45min unload and have 10-20,000 hectares of land that is not patrolled. in fact i have cops and fish and game friends that ride with me. It is freakin' AWESOME!!!!

you guys need to be up in canada where the rules arent as enforced. i load up and drive 45min to the bronson forest crown land and i have 10-30,000 hectares of some meanest, roughest terrain i have ever road in and that includes mountain riding. i cant wait until spring so i can get out riding.

Gearhead I would love that! Best enjoy it while you can!! cuz all this bullshit is creeping north!

That's what worries me, at all the popular riding areas I go to, you can see it coming allready. The last three years or so, I've been harrassed for paperwork more times than I have on the roads, in my truck, my whole life. At least on the hiways they need a reason to stop you. Thier like a bunch of vultures on the trails, it's really starting to piss me off.

i will enjoy it. we canadians are to freakin' stubborn to let anything like that happen. the native control alot of land up here called reserves. so the tree huggers will have a tough time getting past the border.

well a big chunck of the riding near me has been turned into a wetlands ... and its freekin nutz ... its river bottoms and has been used for off roading for about 50 years or more ... now the DNR guys like to come here and ride there quads and side X sides and if any one else is back there riding they will chase you down crash you if you run and they catch up 2 u ware they can and take your quads and take you to jail and you have to fight in cort 2 get your quad back ....and you can get up to a year in jail + fines up to $1200.00 for your first time ... its freekin crazy ...

Just some friendly advice on new tires. Check with your ATV dealer.
There are so many aftermarket sites, Revco, Royal Distributing, Partzilla, and on and on. Even with their “ big sales”, my local Canam dealer’s REGULAR price beat the tire prices of the 3rd party sellers! People often assume the Dealership will cost them more, but I found this not to be true!

Hey all, BruinBeater here.  Just joined up from the Pittsburgh, PA area.
Got a Polaris Sportsman 1000 and a 570 in the garage that don't get ridden quite enough but looking forward to a family trip this fall.
I'm the unofficial mechanic of the extended family.  In the past month or so I've replaced a transmission in a Chevy Silverado, rust repair on a Chevy Malibu, electrical repair on a Subaru Crosstrek, overheating issue solved on a Can Am Commander, and right now I have a pair of Grizzly and a Bruin 350 in the garage.  Both have a no start condition and have been sitting for 2+ years.

I have replaced the cracked stator cover on my non-running 2006 LT-F400F that I purchased recently, checked all the shafts vs the service manual and pics and advice here.  I replaced missing gears, bushings and washers, made sure that truth marks were all aligned properly, that the shift cam springs felt like they returned properly, etc.  IAfter installing the new stator cover I checked the transfer lever for proper movement from L-H-R and then cranked it up.  Happily, it runs and changes gears well in L,  but it will not shift into H or R for anything.  I have opened it back up and am going back through it looking for the missing puzzle piece(s) but how can I best check that I have everything right this time before buttoning it back up?

another new guy.  have a Yamaha Kodiak 700 and Polaris 500HO. My brother has a couple of Polaris. Summer in northern Michigan and ride some in Michigans UP where we have a cabin in backwoods. New to quads last year as far as owning one. Have been a jeeper for many years and modified/built several so have some mechanical ability, pretty knowledgable electrically too. Initially started reading the forums to find out what others using for lubes and common issues, other maintenance etc.  Hopefully I can contribute.
