Since we had to sell the car I just spent enuff money for a Undercover tonneau cover. For keeping things dry we have to haul in the bed of the truck now! I could have put a few hundred with it and bought another quad. I found a 300ex for 950, 400ex 1'200 & yamaha blaster 1,200. I would have saved money getting the 300!

Don't you love how things work out sometimes? I had a Jeep Cherokee that I got cheap because it was a reconstructed title. I also have a Subaru Forester. The Jeep ran good, but was full of nagging little things like doors not lining up and leaking, the inside was always wet. I got rid of it, now the Subaru has a lot of mechanical problems. Boy I wish I had that leaky Jeep back. Like they say hindsight is 20/20.

Get the 400ex:yes: Blaster is way to small (I know I traded my 300ex for a blaster and found out that they are suited for 140lbs skinny people ) ended up trading it for a 400ex !!

Come on now Jeff, we all have our problems with these things, look at all the crap I went through with mine!(well, my son's quad):aargh: It is now running and running well, but it took money and time to fix, and a good service manual, get from ebay if you don't have one, but not an owners manual, does'nt tell you much. Like Wylde1 said, hindsight is 20/20. Wylde1 is my idol.....always has something proactive to say,,,,,fix your quad and hopefully that will be all for awhile....sorry your having such a rough time but you got woods to explore:yes:...........and don't think of stealing Jennifer's quad... she may be like my son and not give you a turn:wink:

I am trying to diagnose a no spark issue with my 02 Big Bear 400 and I am really hoping it is not a CDI.  I have done the test on the stator and I believe that is faulty.  I ordered a new aftermarket one from a the jungle website and it tested bad right out of the box so I am waiting for a different one to arrive from an ATV parts supplier.  I started looking out of curiosity at CDI units and it seems if it is for a big bear you are SOL.  Kodiaks, no problem.  Big Bear. No such luck.

Hey all, BruinBeater here.  Just joined up from the Pittsburgh, PA area.
Got a Polaris Sportsman 1000 and a 570 in the garage that don't get ridden quite enough but looking forward to a family trip this fall.
I'm the unofficial mechanic of the extended family.  In the past month or so I've replaced a transmission in a Chevy Silverado, rust repair on a Chevy Malibu, electrical repair on a Subaru Crosstrek, overheating issue solved on a Can Am Commander, and right now I have a pair of Grizzly and a Bruin 350 in the garage.  Both have a no start condition and have been sitting for 2+ years.

I have replaced the cracked stator cover on my non-running 2006 LT-F400F that I purchased recently, checked all the shafts vs the service manual and pics and advice here.  I replaced missing gears, bushings and washers, made sure that truth marks were all aligned properly, that the shift cam springs felt like they returned properly, etc.  IAfter installing the new stator cover I checked the transfer lever for proper movement from L-H-R and then cranked it up.  Happily, it runs and changes gears well in L,  but it will not shift into H or R for anything.  I have opened it back up and am going back through it looking for the missing puzzle piece(s) but how can I best check that I have everything right this time before buttoning it back up?

Does anyone have a recommendation of a really Heavy Duty ATV cover. I have bought several and they do keep the water off somewhat, but they are very thin and do not contour with the shape very well and water pools up in the rack louvers. I think i may be looking for a heavy canvas one, if anyone has a recommendation it would be greatly appreciated.

      Hello All
I'm kinda new to ATVs. I just bought a 1987 Suzuki quad runner 230 Dual Range. I'm having a problem finding info on it. It's very clean, only 2.800 miles. The front wheels are only 30 in.center to center. I was thinking about adding wheel spacers to give it more stability. I realize the added stress on ball joints and bearings. I'm wondering if there are any other concerns? Any input is greatly appreciated!
