I've been reading through these forums for about two weeks looking into the issue I am having with my 425 Magnum and have tried everything I have seen but nothing has fixed my issue. Basically, I picked this 4wheeler up knowing it would idle perfect but would not rev past 1/3 throttle. I figured it was a Carb issue but after looking at that realize it is not. I have replaced the Cam and Rockers, again not the problem. I finally took the air box completely off and noticed that the hose going to the airbox was wrinkle inside and possibly letting air in. I figured I would permatex it up as a temp fix before purchasing that. Well, while it was setting up over night, I decided to run the bike. It ran damn good. It would rev to full throttle even though it was sputtering which I attributed to the lack of vacuum line being connect due to the air box being off. Anywho, I put the air box back on when I got home from work thinking I found the issue and the thing is back running the way it was before. The engine doesn't completely die it just struggles to stay firing. I have also already tried disconnecting the rev limiter (black wire) but got the same results. Does anyone have any other ideas before I take this thing down the road and run it into the Quarry?!?!?!? :aargh:

Thanks

Welcome to QUADCRAZY! So you said you looked at the carb, right? You made sure the float is fully operational? Sounds like fuel flow to me or shortage of, at high rpm.

Have you checked your stator output at higher rpm?

Have you checked the choke adjustment. MY Daughters quad about made me crazy and it was cracks in the fuel line at idle it was fine hit the throttle and it was like you were running out of gas.

Hi everyone and thanks for reading.
My husband and me are getting ready to host the 2nd Quad Runners event at our nudist campground. The first one (last year) went pretty well with about 20 quads attending and have to say, it was a smaller group, but they made up for their size with the large interest in partying and there was plenty of nudity as the Saturday night went on.
We have decided to host another one this summer, but we are looking for some fun (but safe) riding events. Our grounds are almost all flat and remember we are a nudist campground so many of us are bare as* naked so "slow ride" events would be the best.
Give us your thoughts and ideas and feel free to ask us anything you would like, and we will answer right here in the thread.
Thanks for your help and ride safe.
BTW, let us know what "anything goes" means for this thread section.

      Hi all,

I am wondering if any of you have a Clutch Starter gear from a 1988 era quadrunner 250 sitting around that you could get me a precise measurement of the outer diameter of the race the sprag engages onto, for me? I need to machine a damaged race down and install a hardened sleeve and need that measurement (it's on a different gear than the OEM one, so I can't buy and use a OEM gear).

I am having an issue with a hs500. I bought it broken and have been trying to get it running. It seems to be starving for fuel. If I put my hand over the intake it will crank but will not run for very long because I'm not able to get the correct airflow with my hand. The things I have done so far are. Replaced the fuel pump, fuel filter, mass airflow sensor, idle air adjuster, fuel injector, cleaned the throttle body, replaced the ecu, and still the same issue. I notice the injector does not spray when removed from the head. I dont know if that is common.

I am out of ideas on what to do next. I have removed the fuel line from the injector and it is getting plenty of fuel. If anyone has an idea on what could possibly be the issue I would be happy to try anything at this point.

Hi guys, I was given a 2000 Honda Recon fourtrax 250 (I think that's the full name lol). The previous owner had it sitting for a while before I got it. It sat for another few years in my ownership. I got it up and going on its first test drive today!! I was wondering where everyone buys their parts from?  Coming from the car community, we have sites like RockAuto and many more. Anything like that for quads? Also would like to be pointed in a direction, if possible, for plastics. I am missing a few and would like to have it complete. I appreciate any input!

Hi all. I have a timberwolf 250 2nd that will not start.. I thought it was out of time bc the guy I got it from said it just quit on him. The tensioner had a nut welded to it and it was like2 teeth off. I installed new tensioner and chain and it still will not start. It has fire and it will not hit off brake cleaner. It has compression. Haven't put a gauge but I'm sure it will crank and run with what it has. I double checked my work and it's still in time. Spot on. Both valves move. I'm about to put a feeler gauge on them and I'll cone back but other than that any ideas?
