2002 arctic cat Cv boot brush guards

Question .After having broken a cv joint before after hitting something back in the woods I have come to believe the plastic guard in front of the axle isn't going to stop much.I have seen a metal cv boot brush guard by oxlite that bolts on , has anyone used these ,are they any good ,is there anything out there thats better

i have the aluminum guards (yamaha) and they are way better than the plastic ones... you'll never tear a boot (usually) or bust a cv joint. even if your cat dealer has the aluminum guards, they will be better than the plastic. prob any after market are good, i just say cat dealer because they usually fit perfect, after market might be 50/50

The ones I run were a home made, mas produced, version called Hos Stoppers. I think they fit 2006-2011 and cover the front bottom and back of the A-arms. It would be hard to get anything past them. They work well but allow a build-up of mud around the axel and boots if you are ridding in a muddy area. Here is a pick of them on my wife's quad. I run the original guards on mine and still do fine.

most of the after market gards are better than the stock plastic an usually fit pretty good ... i have several different brands on a few of my quads an they work an fit good ..

Thanks for the response.When you look at them they don't seem to be something that you couldn't make yourself,just have to find some material.
