OK so im looking to get 22" GBC gator tires for the rear of my quad. What would be a complimentary front tire? I have a 400EX so big front tires are a nono.

Also Ive see alot of sport atv riders wearing backpacks of some sort in the trails? are the comfortable? I will forgo the aluminum rack if the backpack is comfy.

I wear a backpack... I love it, way better than trying to fit tools, camera, wallet, cell, water, condo... Nevermind, or whatever you bring, in other places. I just make sure it is tight, so it doesn't flop around in the whoops.

They dont make swamplites in 22x7x10. I might just go with a knobby type like from the factory.

I was talking about for the rear of your quad. Every body runs them here. Not real impressed with the Gators, except in pure mud. Swamplites dig like there is no tomorrow. ITP also makes a Mud Lite for all four corners of your quad.

Would I want to wear mudlites on all four corners? I ride mostly on the coal hills in NE PA. Coal dust mixed with water gets real slippery, like grease almost. On the other hand alot of the trails are rocks and hard packed dirt.

I didnt want to run soft tires on all four corners. or do I? I really have no idea what to run on the fronts. I currently have stockers in front which suck big time and maxxis razrs on the rear. Aside from the coal mud they are a pretty good tire as I keep up with the 4x4s. I do like to ride fast and want handling too.

So I will not look at gators anymore. Definetly mudlites in the rear. as for the front? mudlites too?

Mud Lite SPs not just plain MudLites. The SP version are intended for a sport quad.

mud lite tires in my experience do not like anything really sharp as in jagged rock n such. we have tried several tires and found that the best bang for your buck is bear claws as a bias tire is a lot more durable than the most all terrain tires. as for running them on all four corners you will be happy you did as it gives you better grip on the side hills and in slippery or muddy conditions.

yup. my family went through 4 sets of mudlites in one year between to quads. i am on year # 3 with my bearclaws and still have rigid rubber left and are not showing any signs of weather damage and have never been punctured. I forgot to mention that i ride in some of the nastiest crap around! when we ride there is usually something broken and a quad getting towed out. the last 2 times were mine! That was shitty.

Yeah from the factory it was a 20x10x9. I have a 20x11x9 on there now. So would a 12inch wide tire fit on a ten inch wide rim?

Oh I meant with trails and jumping and what not. I would assume as long as its tight against you like you said and not too heavy it should be fine....right?

it only as heavy as you make it. but i the few time i rode with it on the street. it dont feel like any thing there compared to a reg back pack. nice and tight to the body. i have the r30 and it water proof. the r are backpacks and the us are just bags.

Hey Mario Stock rims for Honda are 9" on the rear and 10" in the front ! 22x12x9 tire will fit on a stock Honda rim The 12 # means the width of the tire has nothing to do with rim size !!:yes:

      Hi everyone and thanks for reading. 
      My husband and me are getting ready to host the 2nd Quad Runners event at our nudist campground. The first one (last year) went pretty well with about 20 quads attending and have to say, it was a smaller group, but they made up for their size with the large interest in partying and there was plenty of nudity as the Saturday night went on. 
      We have decided to host another one this summer, but we are looking for some fun (but safe) riding events. Our grounds are almost all flat and remember we are a nudist campground so many of us are bare as* naked so "slow ride" events would be the best. 
      Give us your thoughts and ideas and feel free to ask us anything you would like, and we will answer right here in the thread. 
      Thanks for your help and ride safe. 
      BTW, let us know what "anything goes" means for this thread section.

      Hi all, 

      I am wondering if any of you have a Clutch Starter gear from a 1988 era quadrunner 250 sitting around that you could get me a precise measurement of the outer diameter of the race the sprag engages onto, for me? I need to machine a damaged race down and install a hardened sleeve and need that measurement (it's on a different gear than the OEM one, so I can't buy and use a OEM gear).

      Hi guys, I was given a 2000 Honda Recon fourtrax 250 (I think that's the full name lol). The previous owner had it sitting for a while before I got it. It sat for another few years in my ownership. I got it up and going on its first test drive today!! I was wondering where everyone buys their parts from?  Coming from the car community, we have sites like RockAuto and many more. Anything like that for quads? Also would like to be pointed in a direction, if possible, for plastics. I am missing a few and would like to have it complete. I appreciate any input!

      Just some friendly advice on new tires. Check with your ATV dealer. 
      There are so many aftermarket sites, Revco, Royal Distributing, Partzilla, and on and on. Even with their “ big sales”, my local Canam dealer’s REGULAR price beat the tire prices of the 3rd party sellers! People often assume the Dealership will cost them more, but I found this not to be true!
