My sons 2000 yamaha warrior will not start. It will turn over but not fire. There is no spark @ the Spark plug. I can pull it off and it runs great. I tested the stator and the ohms were very low on one of the plugs. should i test anything else?? and if so how??? (i will apoloize in advance...i may not know the proper names of some parts..I have never done anything like this....I'm just a mom trying to fix sons bike...if i can. :frown:

I changed spark plug. Made sure wires going to spark plug had good connection. Tested the ohms from the wires coming from stator. One read 291 and the other much much lower, although i can't remember the exact #. sorry. I should have given you more info. hope this is better and thank you so much.

I don't have a manual for the warrior, but You may want to test the coil, (what the spark plug wire connects to). Even a bad plug boot can cause this.

Blaster/raptor/warrior/banshee- remove the plug boot by unscrewing it- check the resistance of the boot by; putting one end on the screw and the other where it plugs on the sparkplug should be between 4-6K Ω, if that checks ok next- the primary resistance of ignition coil [positive lead (red) to the skinny power wire coming out of coil unplug it to test this-to generator(stator) and negative lead (black) to one of the grounding terminal on either side of the coil] should get- 1.44-1.76Ω Secondary resistance [positive lead (red) to the plug wire and neg (black) to the power wire on coil to generator(stator) again unplugged] 5.28-7.92K Ω.

If any are not in this limit replace it! Hope this makes sense to ya!

ok, stator is good because it runs when pull started.

cdi box is good because it runs fine.

voltage regulator is probably fine too.

coil is good because it runs fine when pull started.

how fast does the motor spin when trying to start with the electric start?

if it isn't fast enough, it won't produce a healthy enough spark .

it could be the battery or the starter, or both.

also, what i would do is strip as much plastic away so you can check all your wiring. there could be a bare wire(s) touching the frame. check everywhere the wiring is tie strapped on and where there are wear/rub marks regardless if it is encased in a protective plastic. peel it away and look and you can always tape it back up. you could also have someone help you to see if there are flashes in a dark garage or outside while cranking it over with the starter motor.

i'm pretty sure you can buy separate ... i know both stator and pick up comes complete new.

check here Ricky Stator - Manufacturer of ATV & Dirt Bike Stators, Electrical Components, Lighting Systems and Suspension Products and you can email them here [email protected]

or you can try a yamaha dealer too. not sure what they are worth, $50 or under i'm sure

      Hey I have a 1997 big bear 350 4x4
I replaced the shifter shaft and the shift arm linkage and the rod when I installed them all I was unaware that you had to line the dot on the shifter shaft with the gap on the linkage arm gap put it all back  together and rode it I can't get it to shift in the right gears  I can move the shift cam by hand and goes in different gears but with the shifter shaft in it riding I can't put it in R or N
Anyone know how to line up the shifter shaft and the shift cam s

My uncle bought a Baja 250, 2006. Knew there was no spark since the get go. He don't know anything about quads so is getting me to help him try to get it running...

battery is bad so I connected battery charger to it to crank it over , cranks over well , but no spark ....
Lights and everything work fine , but with each crank over using the e start switch , the display reads 999 888 777 666 ... Right down to 000 and repeats itself .

He managed to get a parts bike , I changed over the CDI and the coil and the stator from the parts bike and there was another black box by the voltage regulator I changed over ... I used my multimeter to confirm as much as I could works , it's hard without knowing which wires are which , and I cannot find any diagrams online for this bike ?

Do you think it could be the Killswitch? There's so many wires coming from there I don't know where to start . Also I should mention it appears the fan on the front of the bike has been taken off (the wires have been cut too )

If this bike sparked it would run . The previous owner said he parked it one day and it just wouldn't start after.

I WANTED TO UPGRADE THE CARBURATOR ON MY 1992 BIG BEAR 350, SO I ORDERED A NEW CARB FROM EBAY.  ACCORDING TO THE WRITE-UP IT WAS A GOOD FIT FOR BIG BEARS FROM 1988 TO 1996.  WHEN I REMOVED MY ORIGINAL CARB I NOTICED THAT IT WAS DIFFERENT FROM THE NEW CARB MY CARB HAD TWO THROTTLE  CABLES THE NEW CARB ONLY HAD ONE CABLE.  HOW CAN I MAKE THIS CARB WORK ON MY TWO CABLE THROTTLE?

1996 4x4 Timberwolf rearend width. Can someone with some knowledge of these machines answer this question for me please. Are all 4x4 timberwolves this narrow in the rearend? These tires are so close the right one actually rubs the muffler.  Thinking about seeing if there are any spacers out there for it. I need at least an inch more clearance.
