...I know this may be an obvious thing to check, so just wanted to note:

I have chased strange ignition issues in the past to find that the "kill-switch" was shorting-out or that the main switch (key) was failing.

Testing these switches with a multi-meter is pretty easy.

Another obvious thing to check is the battery terminal/starter connections.

..also before doing an Ohms test check all switches & connectors for continuity.

Make sure that there is enough voltage coming from the battery system (approx. 12.8v).

After testing lights switch, engine stop switch (kill), starter switch & main switch do an Ohms test .

I think that this will work for your bike but not 100% sure.

Ohms testing with meter:

Disconnect the coil connections from the wiring harness & connect to meter.

ignition

spark plug gap = .8-.9mm or .03-.04in

main fuse = 20amp

primary coil = (+) orange to terminal (-) ignition coil base >> (Ohms x 1)

primary coil = (-) spark plug lead (+) ignition coil base >> (Ohms x 1K)

primary coil = approx. .18 -.28 Ohms (at 68deg F)

secondary coil = approx. 6.32 -9.48 Ohms (at 68deg F)

pickup coil = (+)red (-)white approx. 450 -561 Ohms (at 68deg F)

charging (source) coil = (+)brown (-)green approx. 270 -330 Ohms (at 68deg F)

lighting coil = white-white approx. .702 -.858 Ohms (at 68deg F)

Disconnect magneto connector from wiring harness (check all 3 wires)

stator coil CDI= (+)white (-)white approx. .702 -.858 Ohms (68deg F)

starter

motor armature coil= approx. .025 -.035 Ohms (at 68deg F)

relay coil= approx. 4.18-4.62 Ohms (at 68deg F)

...if you have a bad ground connection or a bad battery cable, it can cause this.

Did you check the starter connections & battery terminal connections?

I would check the main fuse again & maybe replace that housing.

To be sure you could take the whole wiring harness off, clean all connections and put it back on the bike.

Then before connecting the positive battery lead, do the groundhog test.

>turn your back & connect the wire to the terminal- if you see your shadow you have 6 months more work to do

Not sure how many of you will remember this or give a crap about it but back in 2016 I picked up my first old atv to rebuild. Yamaha bear tracker 250. I picked it up in NJ while I was out looking for a quad for my little guy since he started this atv thing after seeing a few old pictures of me in my hay day riding.

The person I was getting the 50cc quad had this one laying around and asked if I was interested in it.  It was beat up and hadn’t ran in a few years.  No spark the guy said and he left it to sit.  I wound up taking both bikes.
I wish I had pics but I deleted the original post on Quadcrazy and lost the old ones on my phone when I upgraded.
This was the atv that caused me to stumble upon Quadcrazy since I needed a little help with the spark issue.  So needless to say I fixed it, did some cosmetic work and she was good to go. I took it upstate and used the shit out of it for just about everything under the sun. This atv made it through some deep snow, mud etc. I decided to leave it up there and use it as a back up since it’s been about 50 atv’s later and I have newer machines now. But unfortunately it sat for some time and it’s a little beat up so I brought it back home and going to clean it up. Amazing how one year sitting has done so much damage.
This was the first atv that I owned in over 30 years! It’s the atv that brought me here to Quadcrazy where now I endlessly check the site to see what’s going on, who’s talking about what and who can we help with there problem or can help me with mine as well as the on slot of what I do today as a hobby with atv’s. It’s been a great pass time for me and my son with the projects we have gotten and get into. He’s learned how to ride so well it scares me a little watching him. He’s learned how to fix, maintain and upgrade atv’s. He’s insanely good with carburetors as well.
It’s a good thing when a kid wants to play in the garage over his X Box!!
The funny thing about this bike is that when we finished it we thought it was the best thing! We were missing a rack on the front and didn’t care since it looked ok, had no clue where to get parts or how to fix plastics. I was so new to this again since I was staring all over again and now had to remember things and also teach my son!
So we will be tearing into the bear tracker to get her up and running again as well as maybe a few new cosmetic changes and hang on to her for a while since I love this bike.  The last two pics are the bike the day we finished putting it all back together and when it was upstate for the first week.

Had no intention of this post going so long. 🤷🏻‍♂️

I have a 1996 Kawasaki Mojave KSF250. I have no manual on it and it has a no spark issue. If anyone could give me a hand with this or would possibly have a manual would appreciate it.

I have a 02 Warrior i am trying to build a wiring harness i have looked in the manual and  i am confused... the pick up has 2 wires.  W/R W/G The source rotation coil has 2 wires. One is Red other is white/blue. The manual shows the  the white and blue wire connected to the w/g  right after the stator... so why is these 2 wires connected?  Does not show w/b wire at cdi
i have looked at many options with no luck if someone has a 2002-2004 warrior and can take a pic of the wires and location at cdi i would really appreciate it. Thanks

So here's the deal people, I have an old Avenger 350 4X4 Shaft Driven ATV. They only made them in the early 80's their thought of as the first four wheelers from around back when Suzuki made one in 1982. I believe the engine on it is a Kohler as I watched this video https://www.bing.com/videos/search?q=avenger+400+atv&view=detail&mid=1E10E939019CA07770031E10E939019CA0777003&FORM=VIRE but mine is a 350. That's if its original, and it all looks original. I am wondering where I can get parts for this engine, or really what engine is it. I have no way to find the year, unless you guys know where a serial number might be. Every sticker is worn off. IF anyone has any information at all on these old wheelers it would be greatly appreciated. I specifically need the gaskets for the carb, and don't tell me I could build them please I want to restore it as perfectly as I can. I can take pictures of the wheeler/carb if it'll help. Let me know.

Recently bought my BB. Everything works great. Only thing is, each time I put it in reverse, it either starts to rev high and start moving without giving it gas or I'll give it a bit of gas and let go and it will still rev at the same rpm or higher and keep moving. Doesn't do it for high or low.
