Hello I'm a new guy from sd. I've got a basic question. I'm 6 foot and 300lbs. I found a good deal on a 2010 arctic cat 450. H1. But is this atv too small for me? I don't want to look like a Damn circus bear on a moped. I keep hearing this is a "larger chassis" 4wheeler. Soooooooo close to the size of a 700 just with a smaller motor??? I guess when I hear of 450cc atv I think small motorcycle lol

I think you would be alright with that size. Its got a bit more size on the chassis than most midship ATV's out there. My advice to you is if you have a dealer around you (Petes Cycle), try sitting on a few differant models and determine which size comforts you.

hey Arctic Cat,

depends really on what you want to do with it, just sit on it and try to look pretty, or getting out and about into the wilderness testing yourself and the machine. Right tools for the job everytime in my book.

happy trails my friend bucky19

Yes the 450 is the full sized chassis. The mid sized ones are the 366 and 425i. I have both types, my girl rides the 366. I am 5'6" and 220lbs and I do tend to like the larger frame quad. (though the 366 is a nice riding machine)

Thank u guys! I plan on doing trail/ditch riding. Nothing on the highway so if it doesn't go 70 I don't care. In a perfect world I want to have it for a while to get my wife hooked and then let her have it and pick up a 700 or bigger for myself. My boss hada bruteforce 700 and that's originally what got me hooked.

Hi, I have been around everything with a motor since I was little, and finally purchased more to get my husband, and kids involved. I have 4 quads I will be searching around for information on. I have two 2002 Suzuki LT80K quads, a 1997 Yamaha Timberwolf 250, and a 1996 Kawasaki Bayou 220. I have had different ones throughout the years, and plan on buying another Yamaha Banshee. I plan on trying to learn more about all of them, so I can customize some of them. I know nothing about them besides how to race them, my dad always took care of the rest, but figured it was time for me to learn.

I am new to this site. I have a 1987 Suzuki LT230S Quadsport I think. Is there a difference between quadsport and quadrunner?

I have a Yamaha Timberwolf 4x4 250. I want to put a winch on it, but just wondering if the charging system will handle it or not ? Has anyone added one to their machine and have you had any issues?

Does anyone have a recommendation of a really Heavy Duty ATV cover. I have bought several and they do keep the water off somewhat, but they are very thin and do not contour with the shape very well and water pools up in the rack louvers. I think i may be looking for a heavy canvas one, if anyone has a recommendation it would be greatly appreciated.
