Why Polaris?

i think a lot of it is preference over the different brands. i grew up where Honda was like the one and only name to have really ... there was Yamaha, Kawasaki, and Suzuki, but they were in their infantcy and not really proven yet, so Honda held at #1. now, all the brands i would say are equal with reliabilty and quality, but it wasnt always like that. a few brands got a bad name early on, and as a result, had that attitude embedded in a lot of people. i always liked Suzuki dirt bikes, RM 125 or 250s, i think they were one of the craziest dirt bikes out there, i always liked kawasaki street bikes .. any and all. Polaris, Arctic Cat and Bombardier (Can Am) were the best snowmobiles in my era, and i think a lot of people were hesitant about a ski doo maker getting into the atv scene ... Polaris and Arctic Cat had problems early on, but rectified them and i have to commend BRP for hanging on so long to get introduced into the atv world, they came in solid in every way IMO. if i was to purchase a new bike today, i think i would choose as my top 3 as 1st- Can Am, 2nd - Yamaha/Honda and 3rd - Kawasaki. but this is just me, someone else would have the other brands at the top, and my picks at the bottom. everyone is different. i think price and application will play a big role ... an independent suspension bike would not be as good as a solid axle rear diff as a workhorse, IMO. and on the flipside, a solid axle bike for touring would be a bad choice, again, IMO ...

polaris has a bettwer 4wd system, smoother ride and at a good price...can am and polaris both have there problems i wouldnt say one has more then the other but polariss cost less to fix. there both good competitors most people would say polariss quality has went down the last few years seams as though there trying to cut corners and save money..95precent of em are built in mexico now, there axles are getting weaker and weaker. i bought a new sp 500efi the only new bike i ever bought and if i could do it again i would of bought a yamaha. ive owned 4 used yamahas and never had any major issues with them mabye a few hundred dollars in parts every year or 2....my polaris was 1000 here 1000 there every few weaks its running fine now but its to expencive to keep fixing so it sits while i ride my big bear 400 that never brakes unless i brake it...polaris makes a good snow plow tho

My 2008 can-am Outlander 800r is having hard shifting issues. Does anyone have a fix for this ?

      Hi everyone,
Outlander 2006 400 XT i have replace the startor cover and right after i did that the oil light is on and not turn off, i check the wires and checked the oil level, everything seem to be normal quad is starting without any problem and rev just fine. i did not want to ride it since im not sure if it is faulty sensor or not so just be safe i did not let it run more the a minute or so.
I have read in the owner manual that i need to clean the oil strainer every 200hr unfortunately i never did that, my service manual that i have does not even indicate of such a thing. so i did some search around and it seem like canam split the manual into 3 parts
      owner manual
      service manual
      engine manual
I have the first 2 but i can not find the last one, part number 219100232. If someone can guide me where do i find the oil strainer so i can clean it i will appreciate it.   im going to do an oil pressure test tomorrow to check how many PSI i have, just to make sure.
      Thanks
