  1. Got it running on gas yesterday. IMG_3642 2.mov Not without its minor problems, petcock leaking, aftermarket carb leaking out a hole in the bottom, thought drain screw was loose but it wasn't maybe wrong screw who knows, maybe o ring missing. I expected these things, but it runs pretty good for stuck engine and sitting so long, idle was high but that's carb.

  2. Nice! Gives me hope I'll get ours running. I found last night that it turns over but there is spark, so I'll begin troubleshooting that this weekend. I'll start a thread in the Suzuki ATV forum soon.

  3. Yup.. good to get the kids or grandkids involved. Teach them skills and self reliance.. and how to keep out of the clutches of thieving mechancs !!

  4. People fit aftermarket carbs when all that's needed is a careful clean and adjust a lot of the time, or to see if it makes a difference to their badly running bike.. It's better to clean and adjust the original carb in most cases. The only bit that wears is the slide and the body where it runs. If that bit's badly worn and causing a problem(hardly ever), then buy an aftermarket of the same make and model, then change all the old brass jets except the float needle and seat into the new carb body.

  5. Thanks! That great you getting the Polaris, hope it works out good . Taking your grandson along and getting him involved is perfect, things like that kids never forget.

  6. @Gwbarm Yeah feels good! I bought an aftermarket China part from a Swedish seller, unfortunately it's a no-name product, when I got it it didn't match the image on the sellers site. Here's a link https://www.merafritid.se/tändspole-kawasaki . It came without spark plug cap, the "ignition wire" has a black outer rubber and a white center.

  7. Looks like Quadcrazy should be the first choice for service manual respository, making the 10 post minimum and joining a new community seems like a fair trade for access to those files. Those websites charging $25+ for a single manual seems pretty outrageous, and if you do spend money supporting websites like this seems the best idea in my opinion.

  10. Engines and transmissions are generally very reliable. As Gw says, wiring and electronics are probably the commonest breakdown fault. The biggest maintenance issues seem to be the drive line, steering, wheel bearings and brakes. Universal joints, wheel bearings and brake pads/shoes I have probably worked on more than everything else, including the routine inspection and adjust stuff.

  12. A free alternative is to store it all on Google Drive and organize it by folder. Google drive gives up to 15 GB of storage for free. You can just create another Google account to have more storage for free. You can also upgrade to Google Workspace Business Standard account to get 2 TB of storage that costs $10.80 USD. I also think it's the easiest way you can organize and distribute your service manual collection. You can also message me if you need some help.
