  1. I picked up permits yesterday, I'm #1014. Treverton and Locust Gap are indeed part of RAC. The bulk of their property is south of I-81. on the map I got it appears that they have a 15 mile long by 5 mile wide area there. The Treverton area is not all on the map, but it looks like it could be about 6000 acres there. They give you directions to a parking area in Treverton when you get your permit. You do have to display a parking pass in your tow vehicle or you could be towed.
  2. I e-mailed RAC yesterday. Due to the high interest in permits this year, they will most likely continue to issue permits past the 1000 mark.
  3. The guys to ask about the climbs would be a group on Modded Raptor.com called the Coal Country Riders. I confirmed that part of Treverton is owned by RAC. If you don't have a RAC parking pass, you could be towed.
  4. As of this morning they sold #843 of 1000 permits
  5. Nope, I hate IE. I only use Firefox. We have had lots of issues on our forum with IE. As a matter of fact we just found out that a ton of members can't access it because they have MSN Explorer.
  6. I believe that Treverton is part of RAC. If it is, then yes they are patrolling it now. You must purchase a RAC permit to legally ride their property. The local police are also cracking down on people riding thru parking lots and on roads. 16 people were cited in a 3 hour period trying to drive to a gas station. One guy got fined twice on 2 different machines.
  7. Here we go. My first entry into he contests. This is a picture snapped after my friends and I just crawled over a boulder strewn ravine at Paragon. We have my Arty Cat, a Zuki King Quad 700, a Sportsman 600 and a Honda Rincon. Hmm, didn't work lets try this
  8. Yeah, that's weird. If you go to the Gallery on TheATVZone all the newest images from Peach and LilZiggy are from this past weekend.

  11. That machine belongs to the wife of one of the owners of East Coast ATV Snorkels. Here's a better picture of that machine http://mysite.verizon.net/vzer1f07/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/.pond/9-30_074.jpg.w560h420.jpg
  12. Well the snorkel testing was a lot of fun! I need to get used to the feeling of my quad going under lol. One thing that I realized after yesterday is that I am much more confident in my machine now. Where I would have slowed down to cross a deep puddle so as not to suck water into the intake, I just hit the gas and go faster. Another thing I noticed, with having the snorkel up where I can see it, I know when I'm taking water in and can slow down so the waves aren't as high. Between the Snorkel and some secret mod they did, my Cat is like an all new machine. I did my first ever full wheelie from a standing start! Ziggy's Terex was awesome to say the least. He had the whole dam thing under water at times. Went in one deep pond where the waves were coming over his hood and hitting him in the chest! The only problem he had was forgetting to put it in 4wd and being rescued by an Arty Cat The machine never stalled though. He couldn't engage the 4wd because he couldn't see the controls under the muddy water! We'll get videos and pictures up this coming week
  13. LOL, yeah and it turns those tires in the mud too. If you want to see it in action, come to Lost Trails on May 9th.
  14. Since my Cat is a stock 500 manual shift, they installed a 1 1/2 inch, tall snorkel. They know what I'm planning on going in, so they made it tall, lol. By going with the 1 1/2" I won't need to change jetting or anything and since it's a manual shift, I don't need anything for the trans. Here's a link to a pic of mine The ATV Zone -> Gallery -> Viewing image -> BCD__s_cat_005.jpg You can check out their site, they have several Can Am kits, and are pretty knowledgeable about which kit to recommend along with jetting suggestions. East Coast ATV Snorkels They are doing a Terex for Ziggy on the Grizz right now, can't wait till this weekend to try and drown them
  15. I just had my Cat snorkeled by East Coast ATV Snorkels and was checking out their other products. The just came out with a cool looking system for the new Renegade, check it out.
  16. We're gonna have the guys from East Coast ATV Snorkels there to put on a little bogging demonstration in the pond. Come on out and challenge them
  17. How about something along the lines of ATVing becoming a more mature sport. I like to compare ATVs to Harleys. 30-40 years ago everyone assumed a Harley rider was an outlaw, today everyone rides Harleys, and their fundraising efforts are heralded all over. 20 years ago, ATVs were most commonly associated with a rowdy neighborhood kid, tearing up the neighbor's yard. Today we have people from all walks of life enjoying a nice trail ride on big luxury monster quads. As with any type of news story, boring doesn't sell, so only bad things make the press. The non-riding community for the most part sees ATVing as a problem because they only hear about crashes, trespassing and whatnot. Are there ATV riders that cause peoblems? Sure there are, but that's all anyone ever hears about. Outside of ATV Magazines and forums, there is never any articles about the enjoyment of the sport, the cleanup efforts of clubs or the fundraisers. I could rant on all day, but I'll get off my soapbox now.
  18. MODS OR ADMIN, Can someone please correct the title of this thread. I mistakenly assumed it was Middleton NJ, it is in fact Middleton Township, in PA, near Philadelphia.
  19. Ha, sorry if we keep him to busy to keep you company. Here is a link to Officer Jones' memorial page >> Police Officer Chris Jones, Middletown Township Police Department

As Officer Jones was returning to his patrol vehicle after concluding the traffic stop a vehicle crashed into the rear of his patrol vehicle pushing the patrol vehicle into Officer Jones. He was rushed to St. Mary Medical Center in Langhorne where he died a short time later. Chris was a ten year veteran of the department, a field training officer and a member of the department's ATV patrol unit. Chris spearheaded the department's ATV Patrol Unit, researching and writing the proposal, which later became the basis for the foundation of the unit. 21. Geez jigolbeep, did someone shoot at you with a shotgun?
  22. Something that I was always happy to see was single serving sized Gatorade mix. Regular water gets old after a while. Small packages of goodies are better than jumbo sized things because storage space is limited and the guys sometimes need to carry all their belongings at once. If you haven't left yet, write someone on the forum once you get there and let us know what size batteries the guys in you unit will need. If we can keep them supplied with these kinds of things, it will let them use their limited funds while deployed to get other things they need when they do get a chance to see a forward exchange store.

  24. For you guys throwing your name in the basket that haven't been a moderator before, keep in mind that good moderators can make a forum successful. You will be the person that new members look to for help, and your words here on the forum will take on a stronger meaning than regular members. It will be up to you to keep discussions going while at the same time keeping the peace. I spend probably at least 6 hours a day on the forum where I moderate, and we only have 1/5 the number of members as QC. Good luck guys.
