What Hauls your Toys and Why????
DOONORTH replied to mywifeknowseverythin's topic in ATV Trailers, Haulers, and Attachments
I haul my quad on either a deck on my truck or a trailer if more than two of us are travelling. I find it quick and convenient with the deck, on and off in 3-5 minutes including tie down. -
ARGO MACHINES! Silly or Sweet???
DOONORTH replied to DrtyGrlKristin's topic in Other Brands UTV Forum
They have their application. More of a workhorse up here in canada, tho we have quite a few hunters that really enjoy them. However, they are a partsman's dream. You have to keep them maintained and parts updated, or they will get costly to repair. I've been selling and selling parts for the argo on and off since late 70's, not my personal favorite for fun. -

2001 Honda Foreman 400 smoking and oil coming out of exhaust
DOONORTH replied to bizzbone's topic in Honda ATV Forum
What dd said.also check your dipstick for overfill. And check spark plug. If excessivly oily. Might be time for a valve and/or ring job. How many miles on your unit? All factors good luck and good riding doonorth -
Jeff- firstly, you mentioned in your last post that you had choke on your unit, which makes me thik that it is a 400 single, not the v twin efi. If so, 400's have be notorious for fouling plugs. Some have done some pilot jet changes slightly leaner. As to cold weather use, definetly switch to the 0-40w sythetic oil . And i recommend a pan heater , low wattage- 75-125 watt, plug in 2-3 hrs before need. Hope this helps

BRP 2001 DS650 looking for more power
DOONORTH replied to DSdunrider's topic in Can-Am BRP ATV Forum
Have a guy up my way who put nos to his ds650. It gave him some power. But, nos can dry things out in a hurry if you hold the button on too long. That will get expensive. I've seen some hop up kits online, more aggresive cams, big bore kits. All these will help. Just dig out your wallet and go crazy. -

We Have Topped Out An Outty 800 At 77 Miles An Hour. Things Get Real Light On The Front End About Then , Tho. Too D--mn Quick . I Ride The 650 Xt, Have Had It To The Mid 60's, More There Just My Clangers Got A Might Bit Mushy About Then, Really Have To Watch It When Travelling Rough Conditions, The Machine Will Do It And Handle It Well, But A Rut At 60 Plus Is Scary Sh----t, Now What I Mean.
