  1. Hi everybody. I found a manual for the Grizzlies, which I do not see on the main thread of manuals by Oxidized Black, so I put it on the following link: Yamaha Grizzly 550 EFI & 700 EFI 2009
  2. On my arctic cat when i put the key in to ignition in turns on the display and then a couple seconds later starts flashing EFI and going from 0 to 110 on the speed odometer. What could be wrong with it ??
  3. Can someone tell me how to remove the rear sifferential. I've got the cv axels out. Do I remove the rear shaft. Or do I pull differential off shaft. Noticed the axel shaft leaking where it go's in the engine. .
  4. I just bought my first arctic cat. I changed the oil and filter. Now my atv smokes only when u rev the engine. Smoke looks white grey.. slight light blue tint.. when it. Idles it doesn't smoke.. Any body have a clue what is going on. The dealer said it's not the rings.. it has the 700cc suzuki engine..
  5. Here is the story. I bought the atv used it one week at the hunting camp no issues. I go back the next week and its working great, I cut it off for a break and go to crank it and it has no spark. I tore the bike completely down(all plastics off). All wiring looked good. I started cheap new plug coil. still no spark. Oh by the way no codes came up either. Next was a ecm because everything was testing out good (stator etc). I put the ecm on and boom it busted right off and was running great. New issue I noticed the wires from the stator going to the rectifier were scorching hot I mean burn you hot. I shut it down and started to research. I checked all grounds again. All grounds were good so I ordered a rectifier. Put the new rectifier on and same thing super hot. So I ordered a new stator and pulsar. Keep in mind the scooter was running great just wires getting to hot. The stator according to all the specs tested out good but I couldn't figure what else to do. So I put the new stator on today and I am back to NO spark. Someone please help I am loosing my mind.   6. Thanks in advance for any help or guidance. I was out riding the other day and lost all spark. I have read every thread on every forum that I could find and have not found an answer. I have checked the codes and its 00. I have ohm metered the stator and crank sensor. I have also replaced the coil pack. I have inspected and cleaned all connections. I do not mud the machine, it is mostly used at the hunting lease for working plots. When I installed the new coil I held the plug on the side of the engine and got 2 little sparks when first turning over and then nothing again. When you turn the machine over like this it eventually flashes EFI on the screen. I checked both wires that go to the coil and noticed that both have ground continuity. While turning over the blue and white one cycle from around 1v to almost 12v. The battery has a full charge and I am at a total loss. I took the kill switch apart and all looked well. Oh yea and all fuses are good. Help me please I am getting very frustrated. Thanks

  8. I just bought my first quad... a 2008 Arctic Cat 700 efi. Im having some issues with the ignition. If I turn it all the way to the right I loose power but back it off just a little and everything comes back and it will start Does this sound familiar to anyone and do you think the ignition has to be changed or can it be repaired?
  9. I am new to this awesome site and I was wondering if some one could help me. I have this sportsman 500x2 efi. I used it last summer and fall around the house and all was good. I just opened my garage door to some spring cleaning so I started the quad up to let it run for a bit. It ran for about a minute then stalled out I tried to restart it and it would run for a second or two then stall. Now it will not start at all. The gas is still good the plug was a little black it has spark. Any idea's ?
  10. I have a problem. My son decided to replace his battery in a 2007 artic cat 700efi. when he did he got a new battery that was clocked wrong and hooked it up backward red to - black to +. the rectifier mounted behind and under the rear fenders blew apart. I replaced the reg/ rectifier and engines starts but I have a short to ground. v ohm meter between neg cable and neg terminal, 12 volts, Ive pulled the fuses 1 at a time with no drop in voltage disconnected the relays and the ecm, still no drop in voltage to ground. Ive loocked over as much of the harness as possible looking for damage but cant find any. Im just wondering where to go from here. Got any ideas Thanks in advance Rick
  11. I had a dead battery. Replaced it and now wont start. I press the brake, turn on the key. The lights come on & fan also but it does not turn over. I noticed that the brake lights do not come on also. Is there a relay that failed somehow?
  12. I was pushing snow this morning and all of a sudden my Polais just died (Everything died on it) I changed the battery and checked the fuses which are all good. Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated. Happy New Year
  13. I am going crazy trying to figure this one out. Recently snorkeled 700efi is overheating but I am inclined to think that the problem is not related to the snorkeling. My fan is no longer coming on. I checked the fuse and also the diode marked fan in the fuse box and found both to be OK. I checked the fan to make sure that it is working under normal conditions so I powered it directly from a battery and it works fine. I checked the continuity of the sensor and it works as well. Hooking a positive from an outside battery source to it. Once the temp got high enough the fan came on. I downloaded the wiring diagram from the forum and it indicates a diode in-line with the ground. Does anyone have experience with this?
  14. About 3 weeks ago I traded a mc for a 2007 polaris sportsman 800 efi 4x4. When I test drove it all worked well. we went to some trails and my son got stuck in some mud and when I pulled him out the 4wd worked great So a friend of mine wanted me to bring it over to see if it would pull a grader blade he had made. we were pulling it great till it hit some real loose gravel once he started to spin I told him to engage 4wd. he engaged it and nothing from the front wheels just rear wheels spinning. Here is my confusions I hear JD parts will fit some polaris 4 wheelers cant confirm for the 07 I changed the oil in front differential and flushed out and filled again still nothing the front drive shaft is turning but front wheels arent (all 4 wheels jacked up) Checked plugin going to front differential it has voltage. no noise or anything when in 4wd last but could the cage be bad seems like a popular breaking point is there other yrs that innerchange with the 07 as far as differential parts did they upgrade this in the 07 the dealer told be there was 4 different differentials in 07 pending on what month it was built he also told me it should hole 10oz of fluid but it dont. I have download the service manual and will print it today but any advice suggestions would be great thanks Mike
  15. Hello, i am new at this so forgive me for any mistakes ahead of time. I work for oil and gas co. in charleston wv and the mechanic is pulling his hair out over problems with a 2008 420 rancher. he has replaced the injector,tps,and cleaned everything in the carb several times and the thing still has a bad hesitation just off of idle. When you try and pull out it stumbles and then takes off. Any advice would be appreciated and i will pas it on. thanks

  18. just bought this used and seems to die. it starts after along time. in neutral can run but as soon as i shift it will run but seems to die. please help. belt is flashing on lcd but would this still cause it to die?
  19. hi everyone i'm new too all this. and happy i found this site. here is the problem i'm having with my cat. few months ago i went to start the cat and no power nothing came on. so after reading few posts on the net . i suppiled power to ingnition and got power to it. but no lights. ok fine. drove the bike like that during the days only. now power still there but does not start. ok thought it with the ing switch. replaced it and still the same. fuel pump does not go on or i can not hear it.starded checking all the fuses and they are all fine.so i provide power to the fuse for the the fuel pump and can hear it come on hit the start button and the bike starts. give the power to light fuse and same thing they come on. checked the power to main fuse and the power is there coming in and going out. what seems to be the issue? if anyone one can help before taking her in. Thanks.
  20. I am in need of some help. I have a 2008 Polaris Touring Sportsman 500 efi. It only has about 540 miles on it. It's been back firing and stalling out lately, but will start right back up w/ no problem. We changed the air filter and pre filter, changed spark plug, drained all the gas and added newer gas, and changed the oil while we were at it. It was still doing the same thing. Took it to the Polaris shop and it had no codes showing up and when hooked to the computer it said all was good. I explained to the guy that it was back firing and stalling out once you been riding it for a little bit. He took it out and it did the same thing to him. It would also die out after being left in idle for a few minutes.. They found a spring fell off that had to do with the throttle and they fixed that and adjusted the throttle. Tested it and said all was well. Had it home for a few days and took it out today and ... same thing. It backfired, wasnt a loud backfire but still was spitting and backfiring. and when i slowed down for a turn, it died out on me. Again, it starts right back up. Does anyone have any idea what is going on? Or heard of this? i dont really want to take it back to the Polaris shop and be charged and arm and a leg. PLEASE PLEASE help!!! Thank you for your time!

  23. Hello all looking at a 2010 grizzly EFI with 1600 miles , just wondering everyone's opinion about these models ? Any weak spots ? How is the EFI ? How does the tranny hold up ? Looking to move up from the Big Bear , tired of shifting but very satisfied with the quality.Thanks in advance.
  24. I have a 2005 Sportsman 700 EFI that I bought new. Recently this past spring, when I would turn the ignition to start it, I would hear a click, but the engine would not start. If I turn the key back to the off position and then try to start it again, it would ususally fire right up. Over time it has gotten progressively worse. Instead of just getting the click once and then starting, about a month ago, I noticed it might take two or three attempts, getting a click each time. And then on the 4th or 5th time it would start. This past weekend, when I turned the key, there was nothing, not even a click. After a few attempts, I would get a click when I tried to start it and after a few more attempts it would start. So I'm posting this today in hopes that someone might have had a similar problem and solution. From looking at some diagrams, replaceable parts would be: 1) Ignition switch 2) Starter Solenoid Switch 3) Starter Unit 4) Battery Before I go and buy any or all of these, where should I start?
