  1. I'm wanting to try and get the machine on blocks. I just want to verify my AWD is working. How do most of you go about doing this. I want to be safe since it will be in gear with hopefully, all wheels spinning. Thanks! 🙂
  2. Thanks Mech, I'll copy that info and keep it on hand. 🙂
  3. My Renegade battery says not to use a maintainer. Says this battery was not designed for that it can shorten the battery life. Also says don't use larger than 1.5 amp automatic charger. Sounds like maybe I should have bought something else?
  4. Put the new Renegade battery on today. It starts up great! Of course it's 60 degrees today 😂 Now I think I should probably get a charger for when I might need it. I'm going to get something versatile for the car, Scrambler, and riding mower. 🙂
  5. Have you tried unplugging the black wire from the kill switch? If the kill switch is bad that will allow it to start. I'm assuming it might be similar to my 500 Scrambler. Might be worth checking. My kill switch was corroded after cleaning its been working fine. But unplugging black wire should let it have spark if similar to mine good luck!🙂
  6. Ok, if it ever quits raining here I'll get out there and measure it Thanks! 🙂
  7. Anyone know if this battery will physically fit my Scrambler 500? Thank Again 🙂 https://www.amazon.com/RG14AH-WS-Cranking-Polaris-Sportsman-BATTERY/dp/B073QW7ND3/ref=sr_1_1?crid=1KW5XXB3ZNKJG&keywords=2005+Polaris+500+HO+Scrambler+battery&qid=1706392841&s=automotive&sprefix=2005+polaris+500+ho+scrambler+battery%2Cautomotive%2C173&sr=1-1&ufe=app_do%3Aamzn1.fos.006c50ae-5d4c-4777-9bc0-4513d670b6bc
  8. Thanks very much fellas, I think I'll do a little checking around and see if I can find a more adequate battery. I'm sure I can find a use for the one that's on there. I don't know if Amazon has anything at a reasonable price or not. 🙂
  9. Hello folks, I have a Polaris 500 Scrambler. Not positive I need a new battery. The folks I got the ride from said they put a new battery on it right before selling it to me. It's been a couple cold months before I tried starting it. After jumping it now, I let it idle plus revved it quite a bit for about 20 minutes. Then I shut it off and tried to restart barely turns over and that's it? Am I not giving it enough charge time maybe need to actually ride it? The battery on it is a Continental CTX9-BX. I lf a new battery is needed would maybe Amazon have a decent one? Thanks!
  10. Ok, I guess I'd better put another 1 1/4 oz of fluid in each one then Thanks! 🙂
  11. Under AWD fluid capacity, service manual says 2.5 oz would that be 2.5 oz per hub or, 1 1/4 oz per hub? Thanks! 🙂
  12. I tapped in in with the driver tool a pretty good ways the the spring popped off again. I got lucky, and was able to tap it back out again. I put the spring back on and tapped it back in lightly working my way around it like you mentioned. It went in a lot easier the second time. The seal I replaced is the outer one that goes in the back of the hub. I got the ones that go in the back of the struts also so I'll have them if needed later. Gave it a test ride and so far, there's no leakage. I sure appreciate having knowledgeable people such as yourself where I can obtain help when I need it! 🙂
  13. I bought a seal driver kit but, the spring that goes around the lip of the seal came off inside the hub. I have another seal but, I wanted to check here first to see if maybe I should use some steel wool or something around the metal edges of the seal. I'm open to all suggestions. Thanks! 🙂
  14. I see, so what you're saying is when hauling it on trailor or truck, it can leak fuel out? Thanks. 🙂 I suppose, I could plug it if I wanted?
  15. I got ahold of the guy I bought it from and he said that was just an overflow hose.
  16. The hose in question is the one that's pushed into the groove on top of the tank. I'm thinking, it might serve the same purpose as the one coming out of the gas cap. Any thoughts on that? I'd just hate to put it back together and find out later, it had an important purpose as I'm in no hurry to take this all apart again LOL!
  17. I disassembled everything to remove carb and replace. My problem is there's a small plastic tubing that runs from top of tank to somewhere but, the other end came loose but I don't know where it goes. I know I have the hose on the gas cap but, the other one has me baffled the service manual doesn't show. Any help would be appreciated. 🙂
  18. I guess the emulsion tube just pushes back into place to put it back in?
  19. That's a lot of valuable info there, I'll try my best to follow it Thanks! 🙂
  20. Hello, would something like this work for cleaning jets in a MIKUNI BST40-251 carburetor? If not, suggestions would be appreciated I'm wanting to put an OEM rebuild kit in the original carb and put it back on my 2005 500 Scrambler 4x4 Thanks! 🙂 Tool Shop® Standard Tip Cleaner at Menards®
  21. I'm thinking about ordering one of the Motion Pro carb adjusting tools and give that a try Thanks! 🙂
  22. Anyone know which side is best to adjust the air pilot screw from left or right when sitting on it? Thanks! 🙂
