I've got a 2005 Brute Force 750 that just had the main timing chain replaced (It broke) along with a couple valves (Bent). The engine work was done by my Mechanic but I removed & reinstalled the motor.

Put it all back together and it fired up nicely. I let it idle for a bit and pulled the dipstick to make sure I hade enough oil in it. Major pressure coming out of the crankcase, it was as if I had my hand in front of the exhaust! Tons of coolant in there as well!

The guy who rebuilt it is very good and I know I put it all back together correctly. He obviously missed something, anyone have any thoughts?

Thanks,

Pete

Not only did you bend the valves i think you also had a piston with ring problems.  Also, did you replace the valve seals?  Could be getting blowby on the rings.  In regards to coolant in the crankcase i say there's a seal missing or an

o ring broken somewhere.

Coolant in the crankcase  sounds like a cracked block  or head to me; although if the head and block  have  water passages  between them  . it could be a head gasket  problem.  Rings and valve seals will  not  let  coolant into the  crankcase ,  but  a bad head gasket or cracked block or head will  let  pressure  and coolant into the crankcase.

If there is coolant getting into the crank case you would probably have coolant and oil mixture and cause a milky result. If coolant is getting into teh combustion chanber, you'd have a good amount of white smoke when running. Either can be a head gasket, seal, or crack somewhere.

a missing seal or broken o ring in the coolant passage will also let coolant into the crankcase.

i never said valve seals will let coolant into the crankcase i simply asked a question re the valve seals as were they replaced.  Blowby comes from a broken or worn rings and usually when a valve job is done valve seals should be replaced. a broken gasket anywhere in the coolant train will allow it to gather up in the sump.

I'm in the middle of repairing damage from the chain coming off of this from the previous owner. (I learned this is somewhat common on these for various reasons.)
What are you guys using to either help keep the chain correct and on the sprocket or guarding your engine in the case that it comes off / breaks?
Is there an upgraded guard that can bolt around the sprocket in replacement of the currently broken OEM alluminum?

      Hey everyone,
I’m having an issue with my 2021 Polaris Sportsman 570 – the engine keeps stalling after running for about 10–15 minutes. I’ve checked the air filter, spark plug, and fuel lines, but can’t seem to find the root of the problem. It starts up just fine, but then loses power suddenly.
Has anyone experienced a similar issue with this model/year? Would appreciate any advice or troubleshooting tips you’ve tried that worked. Thanks in advance for your help!

I have Grizzly 700 that has been pretty much totaled out in a bad accident, but it will still run and drive good...
Will this engine swap into any of the Yamaha UTV's like thr rhino and Viking 700's?
Was just going to sell it as is for a engine for someone who needs one pretty cheap..but been thinking about getting a UTV for the family and maybe find one with a blown engine cheap and swap it out
I already an excellent shape 2001 Big Bear 400 4x4 for us..but kinda been looking for a good used UTV for us and the grandkids on our property to play with
Not sure of the year..i can't remember what year it was when i picked it up for a buddy a few years ago..he went to jail after he totaled this thing and told me to pick up a few things at his house he was renting and just keep them for myself since he owed me a bunch of money before the landlord sent them to the dump...
The first picture is when i went and picked it up for him..second is how it is now..frame is all twisted up and plastics are fubarred..going to sell the rims and tires.they stick out way too wide on my Big Bear
