I've got a 2005 Brute Force 750 that just had the main timing chain replaced (It broke) along with a couple valves (Bent). The engine work was done by my Mechanic but I removed & reinstalled the motor. Put it all back together and it fired up nicely. I let it idle for a bit and pulled the dipstick to make sure I hade enough oil in it. Major pressure coming out of the crankcase, it was as if I had my hand in front of the exhaust! Tons of coolant in there as well! The guy who rebuilt it is very good and I know I put it all back together correctly. He obviously missed something, anyone have any thoughts? Thanks, Pete

My 2000 suzuki quadrunner 500 has a leak at the rear of the crank case cover. You can see the oil very lightly spitting out when you look at it from the rear. I first found the bolt loose and I tighten it just lightly (I think they say 8 ft pounds). That stop part of the leak, but you can still see it coming out at the gasket between the two halves. I am mechanically inclined, but was just wondering if there are any surprises I might be aware of when I take off the pull cord assembly, shifter ext. Do you think there could be any other issues when I get it apart?? Doesn't appear to be any crack and I can see it just slightly spay out right in one little spot where the bolt is. Any help is appreciated.

Hello everyone, I have a 99 grizzly 600 and I am about to split the crankcase due to a leaking gasket. I have the motor pulled out of the quad and I need to split the crankcase but I can seem to figure out how to comes apart. Do I need to pull the clutch cover off and losen anything or do I just need to use a soft hammer and keep smacking it apart?

1995 Yamaha Big Bear 350 - Crankcase cleanup for assembly
Meo9979 posted a topic in Yamaha ATV Forum
Hey there, I splitted open my crankcase on my big bear to change my shift drum that broke . Now I'm at the step where I'd like to clean both sides of the crankcase & clutch cover, first thing being to remove the old gasket sticked there. I think I messed up by trying to be quick & used a copper brush on a power drill to brush it off:frown:... I know that copper is softer than metal, but did I just screw up my aluminum crankcase edges by doing that? Or will it be ok with a proper gasket that I'm about to order? Also, doing that left some residues inside the crankcase half, I was wondering if I can clean the interior of the crankcase (bearings still installed inside) with some water? I think I read somewhere that you can do that if you take care of drying out the bearings with compressed air and oiling them up with engine oil afterwards. Thanks for any help!
