Bought a 01 bear tracker and a trailer from a local guy last week. I rebuilt the carb 2 days ago and ran damn near perfect for 2 hours. Parked it and came back the next day. It suddenly won't hold an idle at all and pops when I'm going downhill or at a slow speed. Almost like I'm dragging the whole power train with the weight of the ATV. It still has decent power (80-90% maybe as it is now) but I can't figure out why it's popping and won't hold an idle suddenly. even with messing with the idle screw next to the bowl on the exterior of the carb. No changes. . ANY ideas would be great. I'm far from a carb king, but I've never had this issue before. The fuel was bought 2 days ago and it has a brand new intake manifold as of yesterday when I rebuilt the carb (whole rebuild kit). I sprayed around the carb and did not find any leaks.

 Thanks y'all.

I actually came across that thread before I posted here. None of his solutions made any difference on mine. I found the problem this mornin, apparently the BRAND NEW (like installed less than 24hrs ago) intake manifold had a gash on the bottom end of it on the rubber. Never thought to look at it since it was literally brand new. Just got off the phone with the parts company and have a replacement on the way. Goobered it up with JB weld for now so my boy can at least ride it for a bit. Just waiting for it to cure and hopefully she'll ride like new. Thanks though

      Hello,

Pondering on what would be better in terms of practicality vs. money spent. The ATV will be a small 125 cc Chinese brand that can be fully contained in a small euro-van (VW Caddy)

      1. Load the ATV on a trailer while riding it.
Need to buy the ATV + hook + trailer (+ ramp?) and work on the car to mount the tow hook, of course.
Perhaps I can find a trailer than can do this -
Side question: what sort of mechanism that allows such loading is that, or, in other words, what sort of trailer am I looking for ?

      2. Load the ATV inside the mini-van.
Need to buy the ATV + ramp.
Also need to push it inside as riding it won't be possible. The thing will weight some 100 kilos, about 1.5 times my body weight. I shall go for the longest ramps that will fit into the van, but still, not sure I can push it in and pull it out of the van without cursing my life - if at all doable.

What do you guys think ?

Just getting into this issue really. Been replacing solenoids but now I'd like to track down the problem. This time I'm not getting neutral/reverse lights or start button. Was on a creek ride when it started doing this recently. It cranks by arcing the solenoid and gives me no light or start button but if I crank with the pull cord....the neutral light and the button work. Turn it off and try to crank with the key and nothing. I'm looking into the safety switch issue tomorrow and re charging the battery. Just figured this was odd enough of a problem that you guys might be familiar. Thanks

Need a little help fixing a no spark issue. 2002 BT with the 2 wire ignition switch. I have 4 stators and 2 CDI's and 3 coils to test. The new stator reads 218 ohm, and .2 ohm, the one that came out of it reads 50K and .2, the other is 132 and .2. All of the coils are 0.00 ohm, and there is no way to test the CDI that I know. I have also confirmed the replacement stator pins match the factory locations. I did try to test milli-volts at the coil to see if it was getting any signal from the CDI but nope. IDEAS?

So I decided to pick up a small trailer if I could get one for the right price.  I found this one for a few hundred bucks on Craig’s list.  It is  a galvanized trailer which is exactly what I was looking for. The wood was shot and needed some minor repairs which I could care less about as long as the chassis was good.
I striped it down and put a new deck on. I had some vinyl realtree graphics that I had laying around so I added them to the fenders which I think worked out well. Very happy with this little guy.
I'm having the iron workers at my jobmake me up a few lightweight side rails that will have a 22 degree bend in them to accommodate the tires that slightly hang over the edge and will incorporate some tie down points as well.
