Winter returns

Recommended Posts

Winter time I don't do much riding as my recreation of choice is skiing. The past few weeks have been tough with warm and rain and it looked like it was going to end prematurely. Thankfully a nice storm came in and brought winter back. I do use the spare machine for plowing so it does get me some seat time. Quad does well plowing the snow.

Here in Northeast PA, this storm fizzled out, only brought about 3 inches, not the 8-16 predicted. None of it stuck to the ground so no need for the plow.

Better then rain for the slopes, but the local snowmobile trails aren't doing too good. (I don't own a sled)

Talking another possible storm next week. ✌️

A quick video of rocking the moguls. Its like mid winter out there in spring. A few weeks ago it looked like all the ski resorts in

my area were going to close. Possible more snow  this week too!

Great video, I like the "Yeah" at the end!

Forecast calling for 12-16 inches of heavy snow in the lower hudson valley, NY area tomorrow, so winter doesn't want to go away!

Only calling for 2 -5 her in Northeast PA. Normally my local ski area would shut down this Saturday but there are plans to go longer.

This time of year very few are skiing and the resort is empty, no so this year, not crowded, but more then enough skiers they are still making money, so they will stay open longer, I don't mind, season is a short one compared to quadding.

1996 4x4 Timberwolf rearend width. Can someone with some knowledge of these machines answer this question for me please. Are all 4x4 timberwolves this narrow in the rearend? These tires are so close the right one actually rubs the muffler.  Thinking about seeing if there are any spacers out there for it. I need at least an inch more clearance.

I’m looking for a top end kit for a Yamaha. I would like to see how well the engine runs before spending $6-$7 hundred on oem. Niche has complete kits from $1-$2 hundred.  Anyone have experience with Niche or similar Chinese companies?

This is something I'm extremely curious about. Has anyone ever attempted to buy a quad (or any other vehicle) from an impound lot? I've always wondered if this could be a bargain, or a waste of time. Google searches do turn up some helpful results. Looks like the state of NJ holds auctions online which I'd be a bit hesitant about.

My online searches haven't really turned up any results of anyone buying an ATV this way. I'd be really curious if anyone tried this, or knows someone who has. I've actually found a couple pages with online auctions for my state, but none had ATVs.

What are your riding location preferences? Mud Park? Personal Trails? Public Land?
