Machine was never maintained properly before i got it so it needed new axles and i figured i should protect them as they were not cheap. Also needed other new front end parts all around so i built a small press and just did all 4 ball joints and the wheel bearings. Only tie rod ends left and going to swap out the steering column bushing and check that bearing before i can finally put it all back together and align it properly. Handy rig.

Already did the rear bearings and replaced what was left (not much!) of the ancient stock muffler (Its a '97 TRX300FW). The old girl also got 4 new tires, a spark plug, her fluids changed and i got her tuned up (will most likely receive a carb kit as well) and the clutch and throttle adjusted. After i overhaul the brakes she should run another 20 years easy...

Hi my name is Dex, and i have an addic..oh wrong group.
I only started actually riding atvs in late 2019 with a friend from high school. After getting out and enjoying a night of riding and camping, i just found that i REALLY enjoy being out in the woods on a 4wheeler day or night. my main rig is a 2020 Can Am Outlander 570 and recently picked up a 2004 Honda Recon 250, and a Kawasaki Prairie 360. Both the honda and the Kawasaki are projects that started in pretty rough condition and are slowly becoming running, riding machines. As i research and rebuild, i am learning new skills along the way and enjoying every minute of it. Thanks for having me in the community, i hope to learn a bit more every day from each of you out there, while also sharing some experiences with you all as well!

Have a 2018 Sportsman 850 SP with factory 26x10x14 rears and 26x8x14 fronts, and it is now time to replace them. So, is it reasonable to replace all four to now be the same size of 26x9x14? Replace with radials, of course, and at least 6 ply rated. And, can a 27" tire fit on the factory wheels? Thanks for any replys...i know this has been hashed and rehashed so many times, so thanks for all replys, and, yes, this bike has had a literal ton of cash put into it just to get it running again, and still needs some tinkering, but it will be a work bike, it is not a pleasure/recreational bike like it was intended to be... LOL

Recently rebuilt front end on this Polaris 400. New axles, bearings, seals, control arm bushings, Hilliard clutch thoroughly cleaned and inspected with no damage noted.
Everything put back to together. Placed bike on jack stands all four wheels off the ground, started in 2 WD switched to AWD both front tires spinning, when AWD turned
off right front wheel will not disengage from AWD. Checked voltage at connectors both left and right connectors have no voltage with AWD switch off, and both have 12.4V
when AWD switch is turned on. Repeated turning switch on and off several times with no change in condition. I am thinking this must be something mechanical with the
Hilliard clutch on the right hub ie. weak spring or stuck rollers on the Hilliard clutch assembly (Is this a logical thought?) any ideas on trouble shooting this before I disassemble the
      right front hub again

Have you ever been on the trail and your tire valve goes bad. No way to break down the wheel and replace it. A lot of you probably know about this already i had heard of it but never used one. Just punch out the old one insert and tighten down the nut

So far it has worked very well.
