Even though you have voltage coming to and from the cdi does not conform it’s working.

Two ways to see if it’s the cdi. 1 is find a used on from another bike same type and swap it and see if that fixed it. 2 is try to dry it out and see if that works.  Most cdi units go bad due to moisture.  Try to put it in the oven for 10 min on 250 deg.  Let it cool down and give it a shot.  If the spark works then obviously a cdi replacement is needed. The heating it up is only a temp fix as it will loose spark again.

This worked for me but I had to replace the cdi bc it def failed again after a day or two due to moisture re entering the cdi.

As far as testing the stator and regulator, ignition coil are all within spec with an ohm meter ?

The two black wires on the brake lever ? A parking brake that has to be pulled in for the bike to start? I don’t think a bike of that age would have that. But double check. Also the kill switch. Simple test is to look for the two wires that kill the bike. Most are black with a white stripe and all black.  You have to put a continuity tester on the two wires at the switch and see if it rings when you hit the kill switch.  In order to do this properly you have to have the manual to see exactly what wires to test

Have you tried what i said with the cdi ?

Starting this build thread to keep up with everything on my build and hope to motivate someone!

I picked up this 2008 Yamaha Big Bear 250 2 weeks ago. A guy that I hunt with parked it at the hunt club for a year or so before I asked him if he wanted to sell. He said " fill my feeder and throw some batteries in my cameras, and you can have it". Sounds like a deal to me!
I have attached some pictures of how it sat under a tarp in the woods and when I got it home and cleaned up a little.

Hello, im looking for some input on this situation i have. My 94 Mojave has no spark, and i have no idea what it is. Ive replaced/tested the magneto, the pickup coil, cdi, the ignition coil. Even the key and Killswitch. I haven't tested the harness its self, but i have tried another harness and still nothing. The only thing i can think of is the fly wheel itself. I have found a lot of metal shavings in the fly wheel and have cleaned it the best I could. But nothing happened afterwards. I am truly stumped here and hoping some of yous could shed some knowledge/ideas that could help get this thing to fire.

      Hey I have a 1997 big bear 350 4x4
I replaced the shifter shaft and the shift arm linkage and the rod when I installed them all I was unaware that you had to line the dot on the shifter shaft with the gap on the linkage arm gap put it all back  together and rode it I can't get it to shift in the right gears  I can move the shift cam by hand and goes in different gears but with the shifter shaft in it riding I can't put it in R or N
Anyone know how to line up the shifter shaft and the shift cam s

      Hi guys
My 87 Bear 350 won't start and could use a hand.
Turn key on and Oil light turns on and then slowly fades out. (I think this is key to this) No start, not even a tick.
      battery and connections good
A Solenoid post jump turns it over
Neutral Safety Switch wire attached and seems good
It has not had a wire/switch on Rear Brake Pedal ever since I had it.
Any thoughts on some other things to troubleshoot this??
