Another great weekend at Snow Shoe Rails to Trails for their annual pig roast. Thursday and Friday nights were quite cool at night. We run a buddy heater in the tent to keep warm. One of our members brought a drone and was able to get some cool video. Ill have to put it together and upload it to Youtube. They were sold out of food by 2:15pm. Trailhead was packed and they had to use two overflow areas for parking. I took a few snapshots from the drone video. One is a railroad viaduct that a few years ago we were able to cross it on our quads. It has been closed for a few years now.

Wow outstanding pics. Looks like you had some fun.  Freaking drones are awesome.

So how did the machines run ?

If I were there food would have been gone by 1:30 😂 I love a pig roast, pulled pork especially!

What do you guys do for dinner bbq or head out to a local restaurant?

We had one breakdown on Friday, a Can-Am broke a tie rod end, we zip tied it up and rode the roads back to camp. We cooked out on the trail for lunch and stopped at a local place on the quads for dinner.  The pulled pork was excellent. For Saturday night, I ran down on the quad and picked up pizzas so we ate pizza around the campfire.

When I stopped to pick up the pizza's I noticed grease sling by the front shaft. It has quite a lot of play and the front U joint is shot. So the only thing we missed out on is we usually ride a few hours on Sunday before heading home.  The main rides were Friday & Saturday so it was not a big loss.

Dropped the quad off at the dealer yesterday, I can do most mechanical work on the quad, but not everything since I don't have a ton of tools. So for something like this that is kinda rare to happen, let the dealer take care of it. His labor price is very reasonable and he had replaced the U joint before, so he will give me a break on this repair since it is the second time.

My brother is the one who owns the drone. I took the raw video files and made this video from it.

Nearby is a 400 foot beaver dam, got some drone video of it as well since you can't see the whole thing from the ground

Does anyone use GPS, whether on a device or app to record their ATV trail rides? I have been thinking about a section where our members can upload let's say a .gpx file and share their rides on a google map for others to see where there are riding areas. Not sure if this is something of interest or how much it would be used, so just trying to get an idea.

Hey all, BruinBeater here.  Just joined up from the Pittsburgh, PA area.
Got a Polaris Sportsman 1000 and a 570 in the garage that don't get ridden quite enough but looking forward to a family trip this fall.
I'm the unofficial mechanic of the extended family.  In the past month or so I've replaced a transmission in a Chevy Silverado, rust repair on a Chevy Malibu, electrical repair on a Subaru Crosstrek, overheating issue solved on a Can Am Commander, and right now I have a pair of Grizzly and a Bruin 350 in the garage.  Both have a no start condition and have been sitting for 2+ years.

Okay so I bought this 1997 sazuki king quad from a guy and he had it for a few years.
He had it registered and on the trails last year but he said it bogged and backfired when he would try to drive it. so it sat for a year.
I bought it for 800 bucks and got it running that night and it ran great for a few days
But I parked it the other night and went to start it again and it was really hard to fire up and when I did it was bogging and idling high then low again.
So I took the carb out and cleaned it (ended up doing it twice because it was still doing the same thing)
Now today I have it running slightly better, but it is still like 20%
I have been looking it up and trying to figure it out but I can't find the issue, has anyone else had this problem? I'll attach a video of it running and giving some throttle

I live about an hour west of Savannah and was wondering if anyone knew of places to ride in this area. Only place I know of is in North Georgia, about 4.5-5 hours from my house. Would like to find something closer.

I don't know if I shouldn't have posted but I this is my second post on this (other was in regionals Forum)  The family has a 2-up 2004 Artic Cat and a 2003 Polaris Sportman and we are looking for fun/easy rides in the Colville, WA area- 70 Miles North of Spokane WA, we have a small trailer we can haul these with but need to find some good areas for beginner.

Thanks in advance for any suggestions.
