Just bought a low use 2017 Artic cat Alterra 500 TRV for my house in PA.  Never owned a quad before but had a blast on the roads and minor trails today in NEPA.  Back on Long Island where I live normally,  is not a place to have one of these.  After today I have a feeling I might be shopping for a second one for the wife!

I am from NEPA and own three Arctic Cats.

Had it on the trails here in the community put about 50 miles on it this weekend.  Think we will be looking for a second one.

Long island is tough to find riding. I was born on LI and have family there but now live up in Putnam county, which is also a bit tough but better for riding. Where in PA? Welcome to QC!

I keep it at a community called Masthope in Lackawaxen PA.  We are allowed to drive the streets and they have trails in spring and summer (in winter they are for cross country skiing.

Thats interesting in my state you can register it with a title they will take your money but you still can't ride it on the road legally. They said to be road worthy had to have DOT approved tires and seat belt so asked why do I not need a seat belt on my motorcycle he said because it has 2 wheels if it has 4 it needs a seat belt that's crazy. I think they make stuff up as they go along.

NY is the same.  In PA I can not ride it on state or county roads,  but the community is all private roads so if it is insured and titled to me,  I am allowed to use it on the roads in the community.

Has anyone had a suzuki 230 quad lock the engine up?  Its a well maintained bike, it locked up when my son was riding it. Pulled the plug, it has connected with the piston. I'm thinking the con rod let go.  I don't have a service manual.  Does the engine need to come out to check further?

Hi, I have been around everything with a motor since I was little, and finally purchased more to get my husband, and kids involved. I have 4 quads I will be searching around for information on. I have two 2002 Suzuki LT80K quads, a 1997 Yamaha Timberwolf 250, and a 1996 Kawasaki Bayou 220. I have had different ones throughout the years, and plan on buying another Yamaha Banshee. I plan on trying to learn more about all of them, so I can customize some of them. I know nothing about them besides how to race them, my dad always took care of the rest, but figured it was time for me to learn.

      Hello All
I'm kinda new to ATVs. I just bought a 1987 Suzuki quad runner 230 Dual Range. I'm having a problem finding info on it. It's very clean, only 2.800 miles. The front wheels are only 30 in.center to center. I was thinking about adding wheel spacers to give it more stability. I realize the added stress on ball joints and bearings. I'm wondering if there are any other concerns? Any input is greatly appreciated!
