well if you pay attention to the little box on the homepage, my trailblazer is up for sale/trade.

i looked into a blaster, dont know if that guy will follow through.

now im kind of talking to a guy with a 4x4 scrammy 400 two stroke.

i can post pics of both if ppl are interested?

btw what do you guys think of my posted price on craigslist..i posted the tb for 1800 or trade.

everything i have done to the TB

Painted plastics

monster decals

painted rims

seat cover

new chain and sprockets

think that is worth bumping it up 200$?

btw lol at the tags on this thread.

lol yeah i know. i just found out the guy lives far but i think he might be willing to drive.

things i noticed [circled]

needs seat cover [no problem 30$]

4X4!!!

red bars [aftermarket?]

FOX SHOCKS!!

chain needs lubed..bad

exhaust looks like a DG..im almost certain..thats not a good thing..unless its silencer only.

Your eyes must be better than mine.....

I cant tell those are Fox...for all I know they are stock...LOL

Whats wrong with DG???? They make very nice Systems....I have been using them since I can remember.....

As far as Chain.....Lube it and go.....

The ONLY thing I would recommend is when you get it.....Make Damn sure it is jetted Properly.....

Good luck....

dg does make a great system, for everything BUT polaris. see this is what i learned from polaris experts that have been riding scrammys since they came out. a pipe is NOTHING unless you have the clutching to match. since dg and fmf dont make clutch kits to go along with thier pipes, they are useless. whereas AAEN, hot seat, and rcr all have clutching to match and have been making and specializing in these pipes forever. i am replacing the pipes and such anyway.

going for the RCR stage one kit. just like i was going to with the TB but this ones for a scrammy. another thing i learned about scrammys, they will do a good 67-70 mph and keep with a 400ex. now after i upgrade with pipe, jets, airbox mod, new filter, clutching, and new reeds....better watch out.

btw i was thinking to stay with black and red on this one. but thats a whole other thread.

and are those bars good? i will prob replace them aswell anyway.

My buddies 400 Scrambler will blow a 400ex away. It has close to 100 hp and is crazy as hell to ride. It believe it will do 80.

Ok,,,,,Im always a skeptic,,,,,

Stock Scrambler at peak HP is only 38 HP Stock........400EX stock is 27-29 depending on what you read.....

To me,,,,,If I got the Hole Shot on the EX you would have to Catch me on the Big end to win....

I would like to know what all is done to the Scrambler to reach 100 HP......Just seems a little Far Fetched to me:wink:

I agree about comparing CC's. A 400 2 stroke is going to have significantly higher hp than the 4 stroke. Perfect example, me on the CR500 and my cousin on his Predator500. We did this in Mexico...Let's just say he was VERY thankful for a chest protector. That only lasted until 3rd gear, then my roost wouldn't reach back that far.

yeah but its auto. and dont doubt a scrambler at 100hp.

it CAN be done, call aaen and ask. their stage 5 puts out like 70.

and thats not that much stuff.

go to azbadboyz.com.

that will show you that in the dunes, that polaris motor is something to be not mess with.

anyway, i got some other news in this case. i guy offered me 1800 cash for it, i think im gonna take it, and buy a project quad.

im looking at an 800$ blaster <- nothing really seems to be wrong.

my buddys 700$ warrior <-- needs some work

and straight up trading for the scrammy <- this ones about ruled out.

i think im going warrior...that will kill my no 4 strokes reputation..

sigh... lol if not i can always go 240 blaster.

hahaha

i would die to ride a quad with a cr500 engine. could think of all that torque?

back on topic, i say go for a blaster, theyre fast than a warrior and theres more aftermarket stuff for them as well.

Yeah I don't know the exact hp but it is in the 90s. I know he bought it and took it to get it hop up before he even rode it. I know it has some HPD parts on it. It is scary fast. It will not move until you his about 3 grand the then it is gone.

I just found this on a site:

hpd makes great performance products. you can buy kits from them that will take you to about 90 to 95 horsepower.

There website dyno chart only shows about 70 something hp. I know he runs racing fuel. I don't know what else is done to it.

The 500 has so much torque through the whole power band. I can stand it up in 4th with little or no effort, just a twist of the wrist. 1st gear is almost retarded.

I’m looking at replacing rear brake calipers on both of my blasters. I was told that the only thing available was a hydraulic upgrade? I’d prefer the original. Anyone?

I'm sure this has been tossed around on here numerous times but with the unveiling of the new KTM fuel injected 2 stroke. Could this be the first step in a come back for my beloved double ding ding machines. Ok lets hear it. Why do you like one or the other??? Myself, I always felt it was the throttle control and Powerband response with the 2 strokes. I know this sounds weird but on a 4 stroke, no matter size or model. I always felt like i was along for the ride instead of in control. I've spent hours on my buds 400EX, even took a new 450r for a spin. before they discontinued them. Blasters, Banshees, and a number of 125's, 250's and even one late 80's Honda XR250R... Results all the same. For me its a comfort and control that im used to with the 2 strokes.... and i love the smell of bean oil... So lets hear it. Im sick of arguing with same two people at work on this issue.
