1997 honda foreman what is best oil other than honda oil bought atv sercond hand dont know what was used prev. give lots of sugg. and why ???????? thanks atv people:frown:

People are Very Picky about Oil,,,Thats a hard question to answer.....

However,,,,,I would take the Recommend weight Oil Honda Suggested and Transfer that over to another Brand.....Read the Labels on Each and see what is Different about them....

i use rotella 15 w 40 in my honda 400 it lasts longer (dosent get thin as quick) as most other oils i use ... i have friends that race also and use it in every atv they have and race ... 1 friend is even sponsered by another oil company and he puts the oil from his sponser in his haul trucks motor and refills the containers with the rotella 15w 40 and puts it in his quad instead of the sponsers oil ... and most of the guys that i ride with and race with use the rotella

If I were you I would by a Hanes repair manual for your quad, when I had my ATV I had one and it was a life-saver any time anything would go wrong or needed repaired, or even tuned up!

I use Valvoline ATV oil which has all the additives needed. Some use AMSOIL ATV oil.
