Hi everyone new to this forum so thanks for taking the time to read my questions. I have an older 88 Big Bear 350 and it wont go into Hi range ....well I think its Hi it wont go into it may not go into low range it will go into reverse when i shift the shifter it moves all the way back (i removed the pin and manually shifted it ) forward is reverse middle is low and all the way back is hi but when in hi position its like its in N no forward movement of the machine in any gear. I did get it to work once but then shifted to reverse to get it out of garage and the problem returned.
Where is the Hi/Lo gears actually situated? by removing the right side cover to expose the clutch will I gain access to the shifter?
The "Middle Gear" housing on the other side (left) does it take gear oil ?
thank you

Is it possible to put a motor from a big bear 350 into a timberwolf? Reason I ask is that I have a timberwolf with a bit of a rod knock, and I have big bear with a bad rear end and axle with a good motor. So, is it possible?

Just replace the crank trying to figure out exactly how to set up the timing the dots on the crankshaft gear and on the balancer gear are they supposed to match as it rotates

The 400Big Bear I'm working on, had a couple issues. Starter is spinning backwards.. What would cause this?
The brushes are in place and I could find no burnt marks inside..
Any Insights would be greatly appreciated.

I got my no spark issue sorted out, got it running on the old aftermarket carb, but it didn't want to take throttle even after cleaned it, didnt really want to waste time on it, so I order a new one which is on its way, so not much to post here, but I wanted to start a new thread. I am stating to clean up the plastics thought I might as well do that while they are off, they were a mess tree sap, bird dropping, mold and what ever. Washed them good and got all off so I could see the oxidation , decided to wetsand with 600 grit waterproof sandpaper, and used Armour All instead of water. I figured it could put some of the moisture back in that was lost from sun exposure.
Working fairly well I will keep going finer on the grit and see if it will polish
