I've been looking into buying a house and my rock buggy that I have been building for 5 years had to go... I sold most of the parts so I decided it was time for a new toy..

I found a 2008 RZR, its got ITP wheels/ ITP Terracross tires, front/rear bumpers and top. I threw some 4 point harnesses in it already and have a set of suspension seats left from my buggy that im going to try to put in it... I just ordered a UMP filter setup to do away with the crappy stock filter box. HID lights, Optima battery and exhaust are in the works for next month... Long travel and a few other thing are in the plans in the near future too...

That's good that you put in an optima as they are designed for massive shaking around I believe.

Optima batteries are not as good as you think. I use to work for them, you would not believe how many fail. But they are good about replacing at no charge. That was the nastiest job I have ever had.

Nice toy, can't wait to see the suspension work.

Finally had time to install my HID lights today... I got the kit off ebay from Burke moto pros..

Easy plug and go install, it only took about 30 min to install... You can tell the difference even during the day in my shop with the lights on...

They are just normal 3 inch harnesses used in drag racing, offroad racing ect... They are a lot better than the stock slim seatbelts they have in them...

Long travel should be here tomorrow!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

nothing on the motor yet... Probably do an exhaust and a clutch and go from there... I dont know if i want to build a motor or go forced induction... MCX express makes an awesome turbo kit that makes these things wild but i dont know if i want to spend that much money...

      Hi all,

Picked up my first Brute Force yesterday. What should have been an awesome afternoon of riding turn a bit into a deception. As I was unable to really take it out for a test drive at the shop, I decided to buy it and agreed that I would take the test drive at home.
When giving full throttle I noticed that the Brute was choking and lost all of its powers. Faulty fuel pump most likely.
Called the shop and the are coming to pick it up and repair it and bring it back. Good service. Nevertheless feels a bit sour in the mouth as I was told it was a 100% good.
Need to have some patience I now before I can really start riding.
      Cheers,
      Erik

I've been riding Suzuki Kingquad 300's for the last 20 years. I have 3 of them. I love the low gearing, low center of gravity, low rider position, low racks shaft drive and smooth ride, but they are getting old and I'm tired of fixing them. Best engineering of any utility quad, IMO, but the execution...build quality is not up to par with Honda, so the price you pay is lots of wrenching.
I positively despise CVT type belt drives. My neighbor has a couple of old Hondas, Rancher and Rubicon and I admire the reliability of them. He does very little maintenance and they always run and have pulled my Kingquads home for me when they break.
Is Honda the only company that makes ATV's that don't have CVT? I like the build quality but I don't like the high rider position caused by the vertical cylinder, the cold nature of them, having to warm up for several minutes and the plastic skid plates. I guess all modern ATV's have the same issues, though (correct me if I'm wrong).
Been checking with the dealers, it seems Honda foot shift models are scarce. I really don't need devices/gadgets to decide which gear I need to be in. So I'm avoiding the DCT models. I must have IRS and EPS because of my age and physical condition though.
Is it possible to get a Rancher with IRS, EPS and foot shift? The specs I'm reading show the rancher is 2" lower than the Rubicon. I'm assuming that to be seat height. With vertical cylinder design, the more you grow the engine, the higher you push the seat....at least that's my thinking.
Any comments from the Honda experienced?

I bought my big bear in 2009, never had a bit of problem with it until last year. It quit starting but still would click when I tried to start it. I replaced the solenoid, the cdi module ( it was burned on one corner) and this year replaced the battery. I have all lights but still will not start and I do not have the clicking when I try to start it. Can anyone give me any ideas what to try next? I haven't had any luck finding videos about the 2008 Big Bear. I'm trying to avoid the expense of sending it to the shop.
