Heyy i am new to the atv buying thing so can you guys help me out. I

Found an old 95 kodiak 400 with 900 kms on it, body is in very good condition, no cracks, not faded, and everything works... On the body. The engine is a different story... It needs a new starter, battery and the tires are bald. Water might be in the gas tank. The atv is $800 good body condition. So yes or no? Anything will help :) thanks

Nada Guide is:

Excellent $2400

Very Good $1620

Good $750

Fair $300

I think $800 is too much for that and the condition. With no repairs needed and just regular wear and tear, $750 is a good value alone.

I'd be careful if you think that there's water in the oil pan/gas tank. Had a similar problem and let me tell you it's no fun. Try to talk him/her down to about $500-$650. I wouldn't pay anymore than that for a 95 in that condition. You mentioned that the fenders were in good condition? That's always a plus. Very hard to find fenders for an old machine that won't run you about $300 D:

Ihave a 95 Kodiak myself.I have found alot of parts on E-Bay,like starters and things. If there's water in the tank it can be drained out.I have found that an additive called "Sea foam" is a real good gas treatment for water in the tank and as well good for the ethanol that has been put in the gas.I purchaced mine for $1100.So id say you got a good price for the avt.Its just my opinion.

I recently read an article about restoring or at least improving the looks of faded and discolored plastic body parts. In the article it suggested using a 50/50 mixture of boiled linseed oil and paint thinner. You mix it up and apply it with a brush or rag to rub it in and remove the oxidation. I curious to find out if anyone has had experience with doing this and what was their short/long term results of doing so. I would hate to try it and find out that a few weeks/months down the road my plastic body parts self destruct.

Hi, I have been around everything with a motor since I was little, and finally purchased more to get my husband, and kids involved. I have 4 quads I will be searching around for information on. I have two 2002 Suzuki LT80K quads, a 1997 Yamaha Timberwolf 250, and a 1996 Kawasaki Bayou 220. I have had different ones throughout the years, and plan on buying another Yamaha Banshee. I plan on trying to learn more about all of them, so I can customize some of them. I know nothing about them besides how to race them, my dad always took care of the rest, but figured it was time for me to learn.

Does anyone have a recommendation of a really Heavy Duty ATV cover. I have bought several and they do keep the water off somewhat, but they are very thin and do not contour with the shape very well and water pools up in the rack louvers. I think i may be looking for a heavy canvas one, if anyone has a recommendation it would be greatly appreciated.
