Greetings,

I have a 2000 Trailboss 325 2x4. In years past I've always put rear chains on it to help with some of the thaw/freeze that happens during snow plowing season. Chains work well when I remain on concrete but a frozen pond is another issue. Last year I decided to plow the adjacent pond for ice skating. Having the plow blade on the ice pretty much prevents me from anything but very wide turns.

Any tips on plowing a frozen pond? Would chains or studs on the front tires help at all? How much of a noticeable difference? I'm also working on a Zamboni mod so impressions from chains or studs won't impact skating.

Thanks.

studs would work great on the ice but would pull out on rough surfaces... if you had an extra set of tires an wheels for the front it would work great.. chains will akso work on the ice but not as well as the studs .. you can try the chains and see how it does and it would not damage the tires trying them and would be cheaper than extra tires and wheels with studs in them ... cheap screw in studs can and will pull out on rough pavement ... but the good expensive one's would do alot better ...

i always used chains... the snow in that part of the country is heavy and wet so i would have a path started so i could take a good run at it before i put the blade down. i was always in 4 too, i don't know how easy it'll be in just 2, but try it ....

Studs would not pull out.

Hi all. I have a timberwolf 250 2nd that will not start.. I thought it was out of time bc the guy I got it from said it just quit on him. The tensioner had a nut welded to it and it was like2 teeth off. I installed new tensioner and chain and it still will not start. It has fire and it will not hit off brake cleaner. It has compression. Haven't put a gauge but I'm sure it will crank and run with what it has. I double checked my work and it's still in time. Spot on. Both valves move. I'm about to put a feeler gauge on them and I'll cone back but other than that any ideas?

on my honda trx 500 we have no power to the ignition switch for starting or ignition
we have lights and horn working
      all fuses are fine
have traced through the harness and cant find any broken wires or bad connections
from what we have gathered so far the pgm fi unit is not sending any power to the fuel pump relay to power everything up.
if we put power direct to the ignition switch plug then everything works but wth the key in the off position.
does this sound like a faulty pgm fi unit?

      Hey everyone,
I’m having an issue with my 2021 Polaris Sportsman 570 – the engine keeps stalling after running for about 10–15 minutes. I’ve checked the air filter, spark plug, and fuel lines, but can’t seem to find the root of the problem. It starts up just fine, but then loses power suddenly.
Has anyone experienced a similar issue with this model/year? Would appreciate any advice or troubleshooting tips you’ve tried that worked. Thanks in advance for your help!

Hey all, BruinBeater here.  Just joined up from the Pittsburgh, PA area.
Got a Polaris Sportsman 1000 and a 570 in the garage that don't get ridden quite enough but looking forward to a family trip this fall.
I'm the unofficial mechanic of the extended family.  In the past month or so I've replaced a transmission in a Chevy Silverado, rust repair on a Chevy Malibu, electrical repair on a Subaru Crosstrek, overheating issue solved on a Can Am Commander, and right now I have a pair of Grizzly and a Bruin 350 in the garage.  Both have a no start condition and have been sitting for 2+ years.

After i did my rebuild it seems to not want to shift well. I think the cable is alright, and when it does shift its nice and solid. I have to basically use my hand to shift and i have to pull or push it very far, like max travel, to get it to shift. I also tried adjusting the clutch set screw. Any ideas where to go next, or maybe i should just grab a new cable to try.
